Trivia Question of the Day
Re: Trivia Question of the Day
Yes, Ian to play and the answer to the second question is 12 or 13, I believe depending on whether summertime is in use or not.

From the depths of one of my training modules- Alaska Airlines 1999

Re: Trivia Question of the Day
Seeing the answer, I did know, but would not have given the right answer. I would have said SouthWest or easyJet.

Re: Trivia Question of the Day
Agree with possibly Southwest, which switched from 24 hrs before flight to 00.01 hrs.of the day of travel - in 2007 maybe ?
Once checked in long before travel but I still got a C boarding priority, i.e. a Lolly Scramble - read fight - for two remaining seats together, and asked someone in the A queue what time he checked in ? He said he starts the check in at 23.58, and gets the message that it is too early, but then just hits his browser refresh arrow repeatedly until he is accepted at 00.00.01. I tried that on my next flight, and still only managed to get a B reservation ! I have this picture of hundreds of Americans sitting in front of their computers at 23.58 each day bashing away at their computers !
I first learned of this Online seating queue priority, as opposed to the original practice of being allocated an A,B,or C priority according to the time one arrived at the airport, when we once flew a trip needing a change of aircraft at Chicago. On arriving early at the departure airport we gained an A priority, but only as far as the intermediate stop. Reaching Chicago around 01.00 for an 03.00 departure, we camped at the still deserted departure gate, and when the staff eventually arrived were given a C priority.
WTF ! We were not only the first to arrive but the only ones there at that time, and demanded ouir rightful A for this departure, why not. Because they have already been allocated. Nonsense, no one here. Yes, they have checked in Online, why didn't you ? because first of all I didn't know, and how was I to do that entombed on your previous aircraft ? At least we were first in the C queue, which helped - a bit. If one can check in Online why can't one also choose a seat at the same time. Madness.

Re: Trivia Question of the Day
Sorry folks busy supervising an idiot gardener who left his brain at home this morning.
Yes indeed Woody. All yours.
I have no idea how many hoses and sprinklers we have all of which need to be moved around every 15 mins for about three hours. Which sort of f...ing idiot starts the generator, the borehole pump and sets everything up to then go and spend an hour putting a fence post in. Half the estate flooded the other half bone dry.

Re: Trivia Question of the Day
I knew that all those training courses would come in useful one day
On a different note, when Garry Sobers hit six sixes in one over, who was the bowler?

Does that get me a point?

Was it Willey?
As in the batsman's Holding, the bowler's Willey.

I think the bowler would much prefer that no one remembers his name.
