Agree, Danger UXB was an excellent series.

Lots of good things on YT at present: today I've watched "Hopscotch", 1980, with Walter Matthau and Glenda Jackson, about 1hr 45min:

and "Too Many Crooks", 1959, Terry-Thomas, George Cole, etc etc., about 1hr 21min:

I enjoyed watching "Checkpoint", a 1956 British film noir, involving skulduggery in motor-racing and scenes of the Mille Miglia.
Beautiful settings - Italian cities, landscapes, mountains and lake; became quite engrossed in it and the fitting conclusion.
In colour; 1hr 20min.

Karearea, indeed, I would classify that as an evolution from the B&W movies to colour, exploiting the new medium but retaining the verbal narrative from the earlier era.
I categorise the current blockbuster genre (off name from a 4,000on bomb) as exploting the technology where script is subordinate to the visual and that is moving into a CGI phase where imagery will be all. Will we see actors with the faces of real people superimposed?

Re: We need more
If I had the time currently I would bid for the complete series of “Yes Minister” and “Yes, Prime Minister” to keep me in touch with what’s still going on inside the Westminster bubble.
For some grim reality the Jed Mercurio (Bodyguard scriptwriter) series “Bodies” would be a salutary reminder of the darker side of NHS policies and practices. I believe it was screened in the 90s and should have triggered the likes of Jeremy *unt to get in there and to overhaul this wonderful organisation for its benefit, instead of which he and others just proceeded to starve and dismantle it for commercial and political profit.
Meantime, here’s a glowing tribute to our former Health Secretary-caution be advised this clip contains the *unt word;

I fear the cultural tone of O-N is getting less sophisticated than it was so here is a short performance on the topic of Political Correctness, something closest to our hearts;

That was a classic, I found them some time ago, about the time they came up with "Cheap flights", sung with Irish accents.

Thanks for posting those. Both superb...
I had not realised that Geoffrey de Havilland had been a man "in the motor trade" originally but is should come as no surprise to me that he was!
