Hardy Kruger is one of my favourite German actors and in war films knew of what he spake. I enjoyed his role as the model plane designer the best though...

Paul Mantz and his aircraft were also the unsung stars of The Flight of the Phoenix.

Jeez, Kar they do go on about a bit of radiation.When one of our Vulcans came back from some high-level monitoring exercise a ground crew would be detailed to wash the aircraft. We would be issued with dosimeters before the wash, which were then collected afterwards. Didn't have any protective outfits, just normal denims. Nor were we ever informed of readings acquired. One presumes we just got radiated, end of story. It has been commented that I glow in the dark, which I thought was good.
