^^
Strangely fascinating:
Plum, I totally agree and to my mind, steelworkers back then were a lot braver than I, the way they appear to have little regard for their own safety. ^:)^

For the mechanical-minded or the just plain curious, take your pick.

In tidlig sommertid 1971, a friend of mine died when he accidentally went over the side of Trollstigen at the wheel of an HGV. He was newly marrried and had everything to live for.

It's a terribly unforgiving place.

RIP, Helge.

One upstanding dog :O3

https://www.cbsnews.com/video/one-upstanding-dog/

After losing a leg in an accident, Dexter, a Brittany Spaniel in Ouray, Colorado, has surprised its owner by taking adaptive behavior to a whole 'nother level. Correspondent Steve Hartman reports on how Dexter's upright locomotion has proved an inspiration.

Report from the Aleutians [44:43]

1943 documentary propaganda film produced by the U.S. Army Signal Corps about the Aleutian Islands Campaign during World War II. It was directed and narrated by John Huston.
The film opens with a map showing the strategic importance of the island, and the thrust of the 1942 Japanese offensive into Midway and Dutch Harbor.

WE NEED MORE

Can I catch everyone's attention please?

Ops-Normal is running well and is pretty active. What we really need now is 'fresh blood', so if you have any likely joiners you can contact either in TOP or elsewhere, please do. Spread the word!

Just watched Raymond Briggs's 'Ethel and Ernest' book in cinematic form... a beautiful film.
