TGA; Looking at that video clip it is not hard to see where the Aussie FB/EK (1962/63) Holden came from! :-?

...and the grille is reminiscent of the FC.
My first decent car was a '64 EH.

My first decent car was a '64 EH.
Back in the early 70's a Mate had an EH with a very worked 179 engine. Used to wind the speedo 'off the clock' at full throttle.
Genuine top speed would have been somewhere around 105MPH.

My old man owned a Holden Special Station Sedan in the early 60's, in South Africa. All our holidays were started in that car. Good memories and a good car.

Two-Lane Blacktop remains one of the most underrated and lesser known films within the automotive community, but for over 50 years, has entranced audiences with its existential perspective on car culture and drag racing during the early 1970s. Although the film was never a commercial success, it's been critically hailed for decades and has achieved cult status among notable car movies.

Still, Two-Lane Blacktop remains a forgotten treasure, and also contains the only starring film roles for musicians James Taylor and Dennis Wilson. The duo play the main characters, known only as "The Driver" and "The Mechanic," contributing to an interesting trend shown throughout the movie. The heavily modified 1955 Chevrolet 150 featured throughout Two-Lane Blacktop steals almost every scene that it's in, which amasses to nearly the entire feature. Even after filming, this unique Chevy would go on to live an extraordinary life.

Recognized the car immediately as a '55 Chevy.
Freshman year of high school I would catch rides after school from two brothers (senior and sophomore?) who had a very tired baby blue '55. It seemed about every third or forth day we were under the hood in the school parking lot troubleshooting whyever it wouldn't run.
Learned to differentiate '55, '56, and '57 models from the taillights and fins on the '57 :-bd .
Only learned later of the GM-Holden connection.

Vauxhall Motors became part of General Motors in 1925.

In the 1940s and 1950s into the 1960s, although Vauxhall models were 'unique', they bore a striking resemblance to American models - if only in styling features.

Chevy, as American as apple pie.
[Chorus]
So bye-bye, Miss American Pie
Drove my Chevy to the levee, but the levee was dry
And them good old boys were drinkin' whiskey 'n rye
Singin', "This'll be the day that I die"
"This'll be the day that I die"

Had to do some checking, but the 55 Chevy must be the basis for the Aussie FE Holden (56) and the FC (58)

The FB was released in '60. The front end being slightly similar to the FE/FC but a somewhat different rear end, having 'tailfins.'

The famous 57 Chevy looks remarkably like a larger FB.

Gardens of Lake Como, Italy / Walking Tour [18:07]
Featured locations: Villa Cipressi, Villa Monastero, Lake Como, Italy.

Exquisitely lovely vistas, glimpses, and prospects.
I imagine an army of gnomes and devas comes out, when everyone has gone, to tend and tidy, weed and water.
