So far so good, only mild cabin fever and the marital state is still intact.

Big day yesterday, our first time out in the car, first stop put arms out the windows for routine flu jabs quick and efficient with a nurse on each side of the car. Next stop the supermarket, only one member from each 'bubble' to enter the building. There was a short queue to get in but things operated normally inside.

Jacinda seems to be doing a good job and although numbers are rising we have, as of today, one death in a population of 4.7 million.

You live in a civilized country, give or take the average cannibal. From my wet, if somewhat, sometimes, left leaning position, Jacinda is a breath of fresh air, if not a bare lactating mammary in parliament.

As I slunk into my local Tesco's tonight to buy a bottle of wine I bumped into a local restaurant waitress (waitron for those Saffers here) who is a delightful young Kiwi girl who has fallen head over heels for a local young English bloke and is working on undoing his limpet like grasp on this island and taking him back to her beloved South Island. We both laughed (at two meters from each other) and her smile was genuine, The young bloke is a lucky guy and I hope, for his sake, and happiness, she succeeds...

Many might find that being at home with many modern pressures (travel, dealing with people, bosses, deadlines and so on) removed will give some unexpected peace and tranquility to domestic life. I find the company of missus om very pleasant and our biggest problem is deciding which type of pie to have for tea.
I can still visit the allotment and have a shed for refuge which does help, those on the 23rd floor might not be enjoying it quite so much.

Goblin.....That delightful waitress, does she say 'there you go' as she gives you your food?

OM15, food for the day is a regular topic of conversation and apart from being limited to white bread we are well provided for. My 'shed' is attached to the house (two doors from the lounge) where I have projects uncompleted for several years, I am making a determined effort to complete one project (CNC router table) which was started in 2014.

I have been advised that a shed at home is a useful idea. Tell me do you go for the more rustic, basic shed, with the odd pot of paint in the corner or something like this?
I say this because my better half suggested I should find my own shed but I was wondering whether I should go for a shed cleaner like this...

My shop's strictly practical. Elf n' safety wouldn't allow little girls with long hair that could get tangled in a machine. Wife might have a few comments to make also.

Nice shop Boing but I am afraid all those knobs and buttons might cause me to pause. Is that a turret mill with a tool changer? The mill looks basically the same type of machine I have but mine is totally without electronics (it does have a DRO). However if the router table project turns out to be at least as good as expected I may have another project may project ahead of me.

Yes John, that is a vertical mill with tool changer. The far machine is new, it is the latest generation of the mill on the left of the photo. We use it to make these fiddly parts and it is also my hobby toy.

Making a few dozen of these will be my lockdown activity for a couple of weeks. Keeps me off the streets (but that young lady cleaner still sounds like another nice shop accessory).

I have a way to go before I can manage stuff like that. Right now I am struggling to get 'into' G code etc.

What time do you get out of PJs in the morning and into them at night?

Do you browse clothes online for new outdoor togs or comfortable loungers?

Lucky you. I enquired about flu jabs 2 weeks ago, told to go away and call again on April 1st. Rang yesterday morning and told no jabs available, no predicted date for delivery, did you ask to be put on a waiting list for us to call you ? What ? never told about any waiting list. Am now, but at the bottom of a VERY long list, and only a definitive small number of "jabs" to be delivered, one day. Fat chance. ( Northland )
