Wonderful vase - like Mike, one-of-a-kind, never forgotten.
Another +1 to all the compliments etc above.

Anyone listening to Steve Allen on LBC this morning will have heard him talking about scammers and scammer-baiters, and how one unnamed individual fooled a scammer for over a year into believing money was just-about to be sent. Both OFSOs said "must have been Cape... "

Mike always disapproved of my music and the amount I played, and told me so to my face, and thus it is with a frog in my throat (and he disapproved of those too), that I will post this last vale from me here to him...

Mrs Capetonian came for a long lunch today. A time of reminiscences, laughter and not a few tears. She said it's as if Mike is away on one of his journies, which I feel, he is. One we all must take sooner or later.

She sends her regards and thanks to everyone here for the condolences which were posted.

Below, with the Remembrance Vase Mrs OFSO made for her.

A day to raise our glasses (even non alcoholic) to Mike, a very special guy, who sailed off into the sunset a year ago today. Cheers Mike. B-)

Thank you for posting that Ex-A. I count myself happy that thanks to you I had a chance to meet him.

Still enjoy the memory of a few hours spent in Jinglin' Geordie's bar in Edinburgh in Mike's excellent company. He later gave us some helpful advice when he heard we were visiting ZA, but sadly we couldn't meet up again as he was in Ireland when we were in Cape Town.

Dear Mr Goblin, I am sorry I never met your friend Mike but I do applaud your choice of music and I hope you will play the same when my time comes! :)
