A further glass or two of a Barossa Shiraz will be raised this evening.

Oh, Jeesus.
RIP to Mike - a thoroughly enjoyable person. RIP.
So sad.

I e-mailed with Mike's son Mark today. Mike was cremated on Saturday July 25th and wanted his ashes sprinkled in South Africa, which Mark will take care of. No further news for the moment....

My wife is making a commemorative bronze piece to give to Mike's wife. She needs a couple of words to sum up Mike's life, to have engraved. Anyone ?

A very tricky one OFSO. Bet GG has a good idea, probably in Latin.

He certainly was an intelligent and intrepid traveller...

Mike was also born an Englishman but...

Michael demonstratum est verum spiritus ex Africa

Quite contrary to the old video that used to amuse him no end...

Though you remain
Convinced
"To be alive
You must have somewhere
To go
Your destination remains
Elusive."
