The Capetonian WOE Thread
Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
Yes it is Wichita, home of Boeing, Textron, (formerly Cessna) and other aircraft manufacturers, also quite a large Flight Safety simulator complex, spent three weeks there on a Sovereign course and watched a tornado pass through.

I would guess about 6 hours west of Norway. ( or12 hours if travelling by Shackleton.)

Not sure about the speed of a Shackleton but this is St John's, Newfoundland, but I surmise that om15 knew that already.
Whilst there appear to be a number of quite brightly painted buildings there, the overall picture does not seem to be quite as vivid as depicted. But what do I know I have never been there!

It looks like one of Charles Jencks?? earthworks creations. I don't think it's Northumberlandia (unless during the construction phase) and I can't remember the names of the other ones. That may give someone else a clue.

The Orapa diamond mine is the world's largest diamond mine by area. The mine is located in Orapa, a town in the Central District of Botswana about 240 kilometers (150 mi) west of the city of Francistown. Orapa ("resting place for lions") is owned by Debswana, a partnership between the De Beers company and the government of Botswana. It is the oldest of four mines operated by the company, having begun operations in July 1971.
