The Capetonian WOE Thread
Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
I think this is the Bronze Statue of Maria Theresa (1717-80) Archduchess of Austria & Queen of Hungary & Bohemia (1740-80), Vienna, Austria

Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
You are correct om, it is the statue of Maria -Theresa in the square of the same name in central Vienna, in the Museum Quarter The building in the background is the natural History museum which faces the Fine Arts museum (Kunsthistorisches Museum) which has, apart from a huge collection of art covering many centuries and styles, an amazingly impressive cafe (see below) Amongst the most expensive coffee I have ever purchased but worth it for the ambiance.
All yours om .

Thanks Smeagol, nice easy one for the weekend,
Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
Is that (or once was) a railway station, possibly the terminus of branch line? Devon or Dorset coastal town?
Yellow phone box though. Needs some more thought.

St Brelade Parish Hall, Jersey. Not a profusion of yellow boxes in the UK. Some in NCL which threw me for a while.

Well found Wodders, we are in St Aubin, the Parish Hall housed an Art gallery, includes the painting of the dredger above.

Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
As not much travelling is going on here regrettably I have to declare Casa Abierto. (open house)

Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
So it was once a station. Apparently it burnt out in 1936 destroying 36 stored carriages resulting in the closure of the railway.
Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
Open house declared, perhaps DBx may like to take the baten
Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
OK, I'll offer this up:
Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
It seems to be an ordinary house, is it connected with Christine Keeler or Fred West?
Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
The building is generally accepted to have no criminal connections (although I would accept that some might possibly disagree).

Great looking castle -are we in Italy? Several 'privies' dotted around including one on the side of the nearer tower for the owner's use and arrow slits lower down. Quite a place!
