The Capetonian WOE Thread
Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
Location is North America. Big hint- a few miles away, a world famous river is small enough to toss a rock across.

Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
Good guess, but different famous river.
Just looked at my nearby river pic. Small rock, thrown hard by strong person.

Are they the Adirondacks in the distance? (on original photo)
Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
There is what looks like an old railway line that wends around near NY State Route 28N and crosses Blue Ridge Road but the railway seems to peter out at each end and there are no photos on Google Maps which show a crossing like yours. I'll keep looking!
Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
Yes Sir. The photo was taken inside the Adirondack Park in New York. The park, which is some 6.1 million acres, is larger than nearby Connecticut. The pic was taken c. 1968 so the rr is likely long gone.
Your turn FD2.

Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
I would guess about 2030 local time - not Fla (or G.O.M.).
Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
The local time zone is PST and a shared name with a famous borough.

There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. ...

OH declared - well spotted Karearea.
I left it for a little longer as I thought there might be someone on here who recognised it.
We found it was a good place to visit when stopping overnight at LAX, to and from NZ. Fresh air, exercise and a very good restaurant we enjoyed. Last time there the reception was surly and slow (as in don't give a damn about foreigners passing through) so we vowed we wouldn't ever route through or visit the US again.

Evening all.
Have been struggling with this one, but I think it may be Dundonald Castle in Ayrshire.

Correct Captain, any of the sky gods on this site might recognise it from their training circuits out of Prestwick in the late 70’s.
