As I knew it but slow on the ball I would feel it fair to take over but we go away tomorrow. No Internet for for 5 days. So I decline.

Woody.

Was your father on the "Scottish Prince"?

We used to stay in the Marine on VC10s.

I stayed on Arran for a few nights 7years ago, we had the 45th anniversary (of our joining BOAC) at the Marine that year.
Sorry just seen this, yes he was part of the hardest working flight crews in the UK, that Prestwick to Belfast rotation was pure hell =)) =)) =))

The style and colour of the building behind the bar looks very East coast/Edinburgh. Colour has eluded me so far!

I think that it’s changed colour a few times over the years, OM15 is back in the seat.

Would it help if I told you there were once a few mines in the surrounding area?

Getting on for 70 years ago the consequences of a nearby electrical storm one summer's day will still be vividly remembered by everyone who was in the town that day. With the exception of one poor cow luckily no-one was hurt though.

I called this place a town above but arguably it might only be described as a village. Don't know if this is a salient point.
