Well done Alison. Appropriate that we start with Cape in the photo. OK where were we here which I posted on the Cape thread. Botswana of course but which concession? Easy for those with good memories. Name of the nearest hippo gets an extra point.

Looks like a lot of people are having memory problems after raising a glass or two of ZA’s finest red wine last night, however I’m sure the hippo is Eric :D

Safari Camp. Just don't know which one, as I am too lazy at this moment to engage with Google Maps.

Isn't the collective noun for hippo's a 'pod'?

The hippo is Horace but the camp is Pom Pom. OM15 the first winner of Cape's new thread. Mike would be proud of you. We all had a great time there together. Personal guide who is a friend and our own vehicle so we could do whatever we wished. The picnic in the bush is not normal they just put it on for us.

Off you go Sir.

Most common collective noun for Hippos is Pod but there are a few others. I think that 'Rack' is another.

I thought the collective noun for hippos is a Mud. As in

Mud Mud glorious mud
Nothing quite like it for cooling the blood
So follow me follow
down to the hollow
and there we will wallow in glorious mud.

Been there - need to think . . .

Great day out for the kids (and adults).

If correct good choice OM. Mike tried hard to get us to include them in our wills but I was horrified about the state of their VC10 there. flown in by a colleague, 'elf and safety apparently, the volunteers are not allowed to go up and clean it.

Certainly the car park at Brooklands.

As for the VC10, the museum is currently restoring the outside of the Vanguard and once that is done, the VC10 will be next. The museum is struggling financially though, thanks to the last few months, and the timescale may have changed. It is not just a matter of cleaning, the aircraft has been there since 1987 (when RK and DP flew it there) and the paintwork precedes that date, so it really needs more than just a scrubbing.

Apologies for the detour.

Yes it is Brooklands, G-CAPT has hit the target squarely and is now in the driving seat.

Copied Archer. Thank you. Coincidental that I had an e-mail from Dick yesterday.
