Not California.

Or Halifax, or Santander ;)))

There are banks on the other two unseen corners, however, and it's close to the banks of two major rivers, so it's definitely a junction with banks.

..and don't call me Shirley!

I think this is Winnipeg Square, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The statue, which gave it to me, is the War Memorial outside the Bank of Montreal.

More snow today and I must move it, as the temperature is going above zero tomorrow, else it will turn into a pile or rocks (ice) when it freezes.

O/H if correct.

Well done!
Known as Portage and Main to Canadians, it features in songs and tales as one of the windiest places in Canada.
It isn't, but when the air is below -40, and with the wind increase due to the funnelling effect of the skyscrapers, I can confirm from personal experience that it feels like it!

OH declared.

No prizes for this but it is our new gateway monument. Our Chief of Chanoga is the one to the left. We pass it on the way into town. Nearly every time there are people taking their photographs by it.

Are we at the Ski jump hill. Holmenkollen, Oslo, Norway?
Statue of Olav V going skiing, I think.

Sorry.
We had a Norwegian exchange pilot on our Squadron when he died, so we all got drunk toasting his memory and welcoming Harald V.

I have been to the top of that thing. I nearly passed out. There is a cemetery in the overshoot.

It was rebuilt in 2010 and I don’t think the cemetery is still there :-o

I thought that was a very good choice, Woody. Not obvious at all, but just enough detail that one started off in roughly the right search direction and was able to uniquely identify it.

A very drunk USN sailor went down it on a bike back in the early 1970s. He may well be buried in that cemetery.

Agree with Ex-A - very frightening looking down from the top.

How do you move a cemetery?

Ironically, our local landfill may one day become a ski slope!

Some relatives of mine were buried in Sheffield Municipal Cemetery. The stones were collected and it was turned into a park.

A council in south London went further when they wanted more land for building and dug a large section of the cemetery up and dumped it elsewhere. It had contained several of my wife's ancestors.

A friend told me that in Germany you only rent the ground for a certain period of years and then the plot is re-let after the remains have been dug up!

Apologies for thread drift...

Thanks Fox3, I was visiting Oslo last weekend and just took that photo being touristy, then I thought that this thread was falling to far down and I could use it :-bd

Very interesting TGA, but not quite what this thread was intended for.

Fox3 should have control but has not posted anything so I will jump in and add a new challenge to keep things moving.

Where is this chap to be found? And for a bonus point who is he?
