Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
That is the Buckinghamshire Arms just outside Aylsham, Norfolk. The historic house beyond the wall is Blickling Hall.
I have a slight advantage with this as they are fairly close to me and I have visited both and drove past their location a couple of weeks ago.

Sorry talmacapt, Smeagol has it, welcome to the game anyway.
Yes I used to go walking around Blickling estate, park there and walk across country to the Saracens Head.
Smeagol on the crease.

Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
Thanks om. Don't have another boozer to hand but found this, which was taken some 40 years ago but the building does not appear to have changed.
(the people in the centre have though my kids pictured with Mrs S, are now 52 and 44!

Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
Couple of clues:
Some of the vegetation may give a clue to the location or maybe where it is not!
The house is currently a museum but has its origins in the early 19th century as a private house.

Government house, Sydney? Never been in there, but the architecture looks similar.
No, don't think so.

Vaucluse House was built in 1803 and was once owned by William Charles Wentworth, father of the Australian Constitution. It’s one of Sydney’s few remaining 19th-century mansions that is still surrounded by its ten hectares of original gardens and grounds
I have been spending time looking for hotels in Scotland, thanks for the clues.

Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
om15 has it, it is Vaucluse House in that suburb of Sydney of the same name. Rather posh, if I remember correctly, though places can change in 40 years.

Thank you Smeagol, this is a favorite part of the world, although I haven't visited this particular attraction, yet.

Bit of a lull. Let us try tree locations then. A famous place.

Those look like Baines baobabs, and I am guessing they are photographed at the edge of a pan in Botswana or Namibia so it is one of the following, Nxai, Makgadikgadi or Etosha (Namibia)?
