The Capetonian WOE Thread
Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
Very, very nice lager! There used to be a Carlsberg Export Lager brewed in Denmark (not the 'Special' 15% tumble water, but about 5%) which you could get on tap in some bars and pubs in the UK. It was like nectar compared to the usual crap like Harp Lager etc. Once had a tour of the Carlsberg/Tuborg factory in Copenhagen with some yummy tastings.

All gorn quiet. Try this castle. I have tried every angle from Google earth, every time Google photo search picks it up. Too distinctive. So no cheating please.

Of course, but I always try to post a photo that can't be picked up.

OK, a clue required, HMQ when a Princess was possibly going to live here. But no contract with Netflix was involved. Eat your heart out Nutmeg.
Wrong thread I know but it is really pissing it down. I mean big time. Tropical storm. Another scotch required.

After being told it was in Canada the search became much easier:
Hatley Park Castle, Colwood, British Columbia

Thanks Ex-A.
I seem to have a multitude of photographs with churches in them. Here is another one but with a harbour as well.

It is always best to go with your first impressions. It is Cornwall.

Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
Cpt. P. You thinks correct, it is indeed Penzance.
A view of the harbour wall looking towards St Mary's church and the rear of the mainly Georgian buildings of Chapel Street.
A very pleasant town to which I hope to become resident in the next couple of years. We currently have a holiday cottage there but Mrs S, who was born there wants to return and spend her remaining years there. As she has travelled all over the world with me, living in 8 countries for between one and four years each and often leaving a place that she enjoyed because I had a better offer somewhere else, who am I to argue?

Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
Spent a lot of time in Penzance back in the day. Even before I had a car, travelled by coach from North Wales to stay at the Skewjack surf school, near Sennen. Then when I had a car, the long summers, camping at Trevaylor, evenings at the Meadery, either Newlyn or Trewellard. Happy days.
