I was in a taxi in Wanchai when a carrier from the 7th Fleet was in harbour in 1966/7. The drunks were lined up sitting on the pavement by the jetty waiting to be ferried back to their ship when one of them must have questioned one of the SP's parentage, because the patrolman set about beating the man about his head and arms with his wooden baton - over ten times and really hard. :-o That was his punishment on the spot before he faced more back on board. I don't know what the man had said or done but it made our Naval Patrol boys look like pussycats. As you say - they took no prisoners.

Remember in Berlin they used to give a list of places you were not to visit. A good City guide. On the doors they had 'no military personnel' Again a good clue. MPs came in one place so we hid under a table. Big boots appeared by our side demanding IDs on the table. We did so from under the table. 'Have a good evening gentlemen' was the reply.

Here's one to be going on with plus a generous clue to start you off! A year ago this month it changed its name, having been forced to do so by public opinion.

A difficult one to award as om15 has the new name and Opsboi the old name. Fight? In your corners, gentlemen!!!!

It is indeed the Colston Hall theatre which I used to frequent in the early '70s. Renamed the Bristol Beacon last year. Edward Colston's statue was tipped into Bristol Harbour by protestors in 2020 due to his connections with the slave trade.

Very civil Opsboi, thank you.

I'm sure that someone will quickly soar away with this one,

That quick.

Yes, now a sort of yuppy industrial estate and vintage car place, was home to the Royal Air Force Gliding & Soaring Association, also 71MU aircraft repair and salvage when I was stationed there.

It is likely we met there, om. Especially if you used the RAFGSA bar!

God knows how many times I drove through those gates. Lived there in a caravan at weekends. On full cat instructors course did an aerotow naked in a primary there. Bloody cold so no restrictions in the flying controls.

Nothing on hand so OH is declared.

Yes, it is a museum. I'm still surprised someone hasn't got it yet, it wouldn't surprise me if someone here has walked past it in the past week.

Unless they've rearranged things, there a Vulcan and a Lancaster in there. That should narrow it right down.
