Re: Museum Collection
I don't understand, are you getting advertising or something? There should just be the 50 or so photos.

Re: Museum Collection
Thanks guys, this is the first time I tried that site (Imgbox) and it does seem to have some advantages for me.
We have a few more aircraft now and other stuff including a Goblin engine that has just arrived.

Re: Museum Collection
Very interesting photos, I tried clicking to enlarge but it leads to a subscription page unfortunately. Is the Dart an ex Air New Zealand F27 engine?

Re: Museum Collection
I first attempted to access the site from my phone and it was overloaded with adds.
I later visited from my PC with Firefox and it was all OK.
My congratulations to all those workers. They are doing a great job.

Works fine here. Clicking on a thumbnail at first it displays a login "for comments", and in a second or so loads the image without further hassle. Ad-blocker says 9 blocked ads, which is reasonable.

Thanks for the comments..
OM15, the Dart came from the Air NZ workshops and I understand it is a 'bitsa'.

Re: Museum Collection
John, interestingly in the late 1990s we used to send our F27 Darts to Air New Zealand for overhaul, it was cheaper than sending them thirty miles down the road to H&S, we just shipped them to LHR and they went down in the cargo bay of a 747. Another titbit of useless information, we serviced and prepared some 748's that went down to Mount Cook, I expect that they are all pots and pans now.
Re: Museum Collection
OM15, obviously you were not the only ones sending Darts to Air NZ for overhaul as various parts of this engine bear felt pin writing in Arabic and other scripts.
The 748s of Mount Cook were well loved and I believe one is currently facing the breakers axe in the UK(?). Mt Cook was by some measures the oldest airline in the world but it is almost history now, our museum managed to get their stock of memorabilia and we have a display, uniforms, photos and a few models.
Then there is this one https://www.odt.co.nz/regions/queenstow ... -come-home

My grandfather was an engine-mechanic in the RNAS during WWI.
I have his handwritten notes from the lectures which describe the various engines that were in use.
