The Ops-Normal round table dinner......Menu?

#1 Post by EA01 » Wed Sep 16, 2020 11:43 am

Reading between the lines the Ex-Ascots are mostly Vegetarian (?), some fish.....TGG's handbrake has him eating a lot of vegetarian, some others are consumers of virtual roadkill...UP mentioning a Tesla car (?) running over Scottish Game Birds...

So, what is on it?

What do you all care for?...OR alternating banquet? (i.e. table of 6 receives 3 x beef & 3 x Salmon?)

What are your culinary selections? Do we select the most popular and share our experiences?...Great idea TGG, just taking it a little further... :)

And accompanying wines???

Steak and kidney pie, a good Merlot with sticky toffee pudding for afters.

Many years ago I was with 3 staff officers* from NEAF. We were all staying at the RAF Club and dined at the Tiddy Doll in Shepherds Market. Independently we all opted for S&K.

* Ops 1, 2 and 3. A good job there was no war breaking out.

Having been to this Indian restaurant with the OFSOs and Woody, I'll post the menu for your consideration.

EA, when I was at school I pined for kidneys. My parents used to post me kidneys. I think I needed the iron. Another used to get bacon sandwiches once a week.

A choice of Pouilly Fume for the veggies and fish eaters and a nice Chateauneuf de Pape for the carnivorous amongst us, maybe?

Ian, your choice sounds perfect.

So where shall we meet? Too posh and we would be paying more for style than comfort

Almost anything but Scotch. Sorry UP.
Had a bad experience almost 50 years ago and haven't quite recovered yet. :ymsick:
Maybe some better stock not mixed with Coca-Cola might make a difference. :-?
I'm willing to give it another try. :-bd
