What do want to do before you die?
Re: What do want to do before you die?
Tell us more about Dina...
Re: What do want to do before you die?
To be honest, I am pretty content. Head back to Australia, mountain bike when I can, surf when I can. Ski for as long as I can. Catch up with family.

'Dina' was pronounced 'Deena' and she would show a leg. She was a little pocket rocket of mixed race origin: Asian, Caribbean, Latino and Caucasian.
We lived together for nearly 2 years in London about 20 years ago.
We met when I was taking her for an introductory flight. She sat in the front seat as I helped her on with a six pont harness. As I tightened it, she squirmed and said, "Nice" and the smile as she looked at me told me all.
Wonderfully warm girl with boundless imagination and a body designed for the Amory Arts.

The above quote is insufficient information without photographs!

Travel.
I have my airline travel benefits and have the potential to go almost anywhere in the world.
Thanks to the Covid crap that is not an option at this time.
However, when this crap is behind us I plan to make up for lost time and GO!
I would love to purchase and consume adult beverages with all of you in person.

She is there alongside Candy Samples ( although sadly she is dead... RIP)...
https://www.therialtoreport.com/2019/09 ... samples-2/
She was a shared boyhood fantasy, with another, now absent, denizen of this good place. Her 'poitrine' size might be a clue as to who he is...
She was in her forties when I was in my teens...

I'll join ya......I have a Beneteau 343 right now, but looking o upgrade in few years to a Leopard 45 Catamaran or a Bali 4.5 Catamaran.larsssnowpharter wrote: ↑Thu Feb 11, 2021 7:08 pm3. Complete one trans-oceanic crossing. Doesn't have to be non - stop. Preferably Philippines to Mexico. Have the boat.
I'm down for that one....
As for my bucket list:
1. Live for ever---so far so good. I plan to have my ashes mixed with potting soil and available for people to take at my "wake"... I will forever live in what they plant.
2. Sell everything I own and live on the catamaran I intend to buy above and just sail around the Caribbean and more.
Life may not be the party you hoped for, but while you're here, you may as well dance.

Re: What do want to do before you die?
In February last year. Lucky it was February other wise I would still be in Argentina, I went for an Antarctic cruise. During the cruise, being late summer, the ship could go as far south as to cross the Antarctic circle.
This was the final tick in the box.
I had been to and flown over every continent and sub continent in the World. I had been north of the Arctic Circle and south of the Antarctic Circle and had crossed the International Date Line both ways.
I have seen the World : There is nothing left apart from enjoying the experience and planning to do it again.

Check into a luxury hotel and spend the rest of my days there. Never having to step into a kitchen again. Just call room service for food and drink. George V or The Ritz would do fine.
Because they stand on the wall and say "nothing's gonna hurt you tonight, not on my watch".

Plant a million trees towards the re-establishment of the ancient Caledonian forest.
If I don't achieve that goal before I die, then it will quite certainly occur in the first twenty years after my demise. There's a bundle of paper, wrapped in red ribbon in a lawyer's safe, which will ensure that that objective is attained.

Perhaps you could leave some money to Shetland, which, when I last looked, albeit from the air, two years ago seemed to have few trees. I guess the wind makes the life of a tree very difficult in those climes.Undried Plum wrote: ↑Fri Feb 19, 2021 8:57 amPlant a million trees towards the re-establishment of the ancient Caledonian forest.

What species if trees are you proposing?Undried Plum wrote: ↑Fri Feb 19, 2021 8:57 amPlant a million trees towards the re-establishment of the ancient Caledonian forest.
Our local forest (Kielder) is replacing conifers with more broadleaf for replanting clear-felled areas.
Re: What do want to do before you die?
I'm sure that when we were making paper using wood at the mill, we obtained conifers from the highland and Kielder areas. The wood was harvested for the construction industry. We purchased the thinnings. We planted 2 trees for everyone we took. That stopped of course when we recycled old paper to make new newsprint.G-CPTN wrote: ↑Fri Feb 19, 2021 9:46 amWhat species if trees are you proposing?Undried Plum wrote: ↑Fri Feb 19, 2021 8:57 amPlant a million trees towards the re-establishment of the ancient Caledonian forest.

Re: What do want to do before you die?
Kielder Forest was created on moorland to serve two purposes - unemployment and timber for the mining industry for pit-props.
By the time the trees had matured pit-props were being made from metal, and the chainsaw had replaced the manual two-handed saw.
Nowadays the timber is largely made into chip-board or MDF.

Met a guy here in ZA who was a minor member of the Russian nobility. He and his family were exiled in Paris. On his 21st birthday he had an inheritance.
He promptly checked into suite at the George V with members of the chorus of the Folies Bergère; where he stayed until he had spent the lot!
