Apologies for not having a full understanding of the UK state system but who is Brenda?
Nickname for HM the Queen.
Queen Elizabeth II is often referred to as "Brenda", and the Prince of Wales as "Brian".
This is a result of the 1969 BBC documentary Royal Family, after which the magazine gave each member of the Royal Family working class nicknames, as though they were characters in a soap opera.
The Duke of Edinburgh is "Keith", Princess Margaret was "Yvonne" and Diana, Princess of Wales was dubbed "Cheryl".

...It's OK Ris it is the Queen, her son and heir is commonly referred to in certain quarters as Brian We Brits don't like our royal family to get too much above themselves so we give them "common" names it makes some people feel better about themselves.
Try this lese majeste in Thailand and see where it gets you, different folks different strokes.

Thanks to both of you G-CPTN and Rossian. I thought she would have used the Liz moniker. Maybe Rossian points explain why someone said that one day there will be five kings/queens those in a stack of play cards and the one in the UK.

The RAF is sometimes called Auntie Betty's Flying Club.

The Queen. Nicknamed Brenda years ago by Private Eye magazine.

And then there's Stavros.

Can't remember who gave him that moniker.

He was in great need of a name. Poor bastard didn't even have a surname when he filled out his landing card for Immigration.

His actual surname of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg was thought to be embarrassingly German when he was born in a house called Mon Repos, so it was omitted from his birth certificate.

He knows what a funeral should look like:

I'll lay odds that if Phillip is seriously ill, the Gun Carriage towing squad are rehearsing.

As I've said before, I was demobbed the 1st week in Feb 1965.
A few weeks before this event, I was nominated to be a representative of 214 Sqdn/RAF Marham at the funeral of W S Churchill!
At the time he was still alive and the schedule was still slightly variable, and when I pointed out my demob date, It was considered too risky and it was the last parade that I wriggled out of!
As it turned out his funeral was 30th Jan, so I could have fitted it into my schedule, just.
