Poor bloke, one's heart goes out to him,
What he said about the NHS was true as well. They do a fantastic job all things considered.

Poor, poor guy
I hope he has family and friends close by, he must feel desolate
I won't hear a word against the deliverers of NHS healthcare
Some of the administrators and their political masters, mind...

In March this year I spent a week in hospital following a fall down the stairs.
The treatment that I received went above and beyond what was necessary (including food and checks on bodily functions and x-rays and ultrasound) - however there was a lack of communication from the consultant.
I was given an appointment in August for the consultant to explain the results of the various checks - which has since been postponed until November.

G CPTN, in my case my consultant visited several times per day after the Op which had taken 7 hours. You also mentioned food. The NHS consider provision of food as an essential part of health care. In a private clinic in Cyprus they did not provide food or water, that was left to the relatives.
