No idea. When these forms of 'currency' come on the scene I just shake my head. Pyramid scam, anyone? "

Just hit 30°c here, but strong winds make that acceptable.

Bitcoin, as long as you believe in fairies all will be well. Bit like looking at your bank balance, it's just a pixel on a screen it doesn't exist as money.

Hobgoblins more like. I tried to do an internal transfer between various currencies in my bank today. WIN XP computer? Failed. WIN 7 computer ? Failed. Chromebook? Failed. Finally downloaded their app onto my phone. A masterpiece of simplicity and ease, xfer worked instantly.

Don't know about Bitcoins but we have lost enough on the markets in the last year to buy a small brothel. Any suggestions of where?

Gone all sultry and humid - one thinks we are going to have a bit of a thunderstorm and downpour. Saves watering the garden if it does pee it down.
It's always my fault - SWMBO

The latest reading from our local observation station, the gloriously named Cippenham South Waterworks is 27C, aiming for 32C on Friday :-o
When all else fails, read the instructions.

This is pretty much the same experience I had when working out of Vanuatu (formerly New Hebrides) most mail took forever to reach me as it all went via the Hebrides UK before
being re-directed to the New Hebrides.

Bapsfontein perhaps! 'The Best Little Whorehouse in Bapsfontein' has a ring to it and a worthy Welsh connotation! Once home to the Witwatersrand cowboy...

Edited to say, despite my joshing about Bapsfontein it is actually a bucolic, and quite pleasant place, despite the occasional tornado, even the weather gets into the faux Mid Western, urban cowboy act!

Cold and dark just about to leave for town. Department of Irritation first. They open at 07.30. Probably be a staff meeting teaching them how to be racist.

Africa children's day today. May they all live a long, health and prosperous life and stop bloody stealing off us.

Morning, everyone. A humid 25°c at six am as the laundry goes in the whirley machine. Breakfast for the cat, the mosquitoes and me too, simultaneously.

Morning all. Also 25c and humid here. High of 29c has been published for later.

Substitute cleaner due in about an hour.

BBC News reporting on rail strike effects is quite false and clearly designed to panic listeners who will need to travel by rail next week. Having said that, Sky News is being economical with facts on same subject.
They have driven Mrs IB in to a wild panic over her journey to Blackpool next Wednesday.

Good Morning All,
Showing 28c 48%, guess 31c thin, high overcast.

Fang Fettler spent a week filling over root canal - discharged, 80€ lighter of pocket and appointment for 365 days time.
Bet I need before then.

We have a new gardener on trial - keeps SM quiet

Shoulder must be improving ?

Survived town. A new massive mall opening today. We do not need it. Anyway hundreds of cars and loud jungle bunny noise as we went past. Guess there was free grub on the go.

Many veggies missing from the shops due to import restrictions. You can buy new pots but only with a blob of garlic butter in the bag, loose. We guess that they are not imported as new pots but garlic butter pots. It is a bit messy they all have to be washed.

Did immigration, report on residency thread.

32° here. Mr Amazon just delivered ink cartridges. Scrabbling to find them, he dropped a lot of parcels off his tailgate. Tinkling sounds.

Cippenham South Water Works is currently 27C #:-S

Our nearest weather station used to be at LHR , but a couple of years ago it changed to the glorious Cippenham South Water Works, must have been a movement in the Tectonic plates :-o

Spent a pleasant day mostly sorting out the lumber for my new walkway - 46 foot of 4 foot wide walkway will cost under $500.
From a local family sawmill. Paid cash. ;)))
..and my nephew, who's visiting next month, will build it for me! Apparently this counts for his Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award.

Well, you know and I know that this will take me longer than building it myself, but you have to encourage the young.

Ajoining the lumber yard is a junk shop select antiques establishment. I managed to pick up this 1937 GE Radio for sixty bucks. That's a winter project. I may or may not fix the radio, but I have plans for the Art Deco Cabinet. I will fit it with modern electronics but with an Art Deco style fascia.
20220616_160224mod.jpg
It has the kind of electronics that used to power Dan Dare's spacecraft, and is about 4 foot high. It was the first radio to have push-button tuning.
p.s. yes, it's easy to change the (non-original) speaker fabric!

Is it old enough to double as a room heater in the colder months? I still have one of those somewhere, probably dates back to the 1950s.
