Cloudy in Tedders. Sun forecast later. Squirrels up and down the trees outside the flat.

'moaning,
14c tealeaves 21c, 100% precipitation and it's coming.
Frau cleaner has her family in tow, all university, and today they are 'doing' the Alhambra.
Looking like they will beat the forecast and remain dry.
AOG provisions this morning then circa 13.00 SM to the horsepitil for a cortisone or similar injection in her hand.
from experience this will hurt
I get to keep the guest entertained.

They mix a local anaesthetic in with mine - doesn't seem to make much difference, still hurts!

Gave me a local first on all three occasions, still hurt.
On the bright side worked, no recurrence.

Morning folks. Nice day. 28C 32C promised. We think that one of our 4 pythons is around. The bats have been very skittish for the last few days. Slightest noise and they scarper. Our very unwelcome squirrels are brown preferably with lead shot or poison in them.

Started to rain, light, looks to rain for a while.
One has resorted to socks.
By now one has normally changed to shorts, they remain, unused, in the wardrobe.

Excerpt from the BBC News article on the 'This Morning' shenanigans and Schofield's possible replacement....
Never heard them called that before!More than a decade after he sobbed into Nicole Scherzinger's cushions as an X Factor contestant, Rylan Clark has become one of the UK's most prolific and popular TV presenters.

Question for the engineers amongst us. Apart from obviously needing a drink, why did 'Tommy' have a bar?

Not so much for beverage as for box spanner leverage!
There was a very fine T-Bar in Cape Town near Cape Town International, attended by many grease monkeys in search of a beer and some eye candy back in the day! Seems to have disappeared, like fun and electricity in South Africa! The Devil's Dumplings, old boy....

No sign of Provosts but there was no "rustication" on this rather fine Percival Proctor sunning itself today.

Morning all. Going to be toasty again today.
In a similar manner to buses, wait six years and two come along in quick succession. Faraday got an OHG2 placement yesterday, which is the best I've ever managed, regardless of dog. They messed around with the group schedules (for good reason) and we ended up as the last group, but it turned out to be well worth the wait.
In other news, the air conditioning worked, hauled out the generator when it was clear we were going to be there for a long time, and sat in a relatively cool van instead of the 30C+ heat outside.

I'm struggling with a connection between a T-bar and turds? Mayday!! (Perhaps 'Pan' more appropriate).OFSO wrote:The Devil's Dumplings, old boy....

I am resisting saying what is appropriate, OHL, or Admin2 will probably censor me........ but will summarise with "You are not helping".
Given that this involves a T-bar (obvious derivation) do we assume it was named after the first 'T' name that came to mind? We are indeed lucky one of the passing workers was not called Tarquin. I could not bring myself to ask for a Tarquin Bar, I'm afraid.

A T-Bar (or Tommy Bar) of course is T shaped when the bar is inserted into a box spanner (for example).
Unlike a Jimmy or jemmy bar (i.e. a crowbar). (Note the shape of the J)
I suspect the etymology of the term of Tommy Bar is pretty mundane, what with the T and Tommy (as in Atkins) being a far more common and likely name for somebody using the tool.
