I'm not quite sure what Rev. Jim will be howling at, as the Moon is in the sky here, invisible because so close to the Sun, but it's here :)

Kung hee fat choy, all. Light rain earlier, bits of blue sky around now. Currently 23C, forecast max 25C. Think I'll spend the day pottering.

Likewise from me also. Once said the above to a Waitress at my favourite Chinese Restaurant and was told that I said it in an Hong Kong accent. She wanted to know how I had that accent.

It was somewhat embarrassing to have to tell her that I was taught that phrase, and an absolutely obscene swear phrase by a Hong Kong born fellow student of the Kung Fu school I used to attend. :ymblushing:

Started raining around 01:30, as usual ruining the Roses Carnival Procession. Even in the middle of a two-year drought, the (necessary) rain always falls on the one day and time it's unwelcome.
For those unfamiliar with Spanish Practices, the Carnival Procession lasts from about 22:30 to 04:30 and it's very loud.

Morning folks. A pretty miserable day but we did get a bit of rain this morning. May go to the safari camp for a beer or two at lunch time.

Sorry Woody never heard of Frank Holland. May have met him on Britannia.

I was planning to go to Vietnam, but postponed it when I realised that the moon dictated the celebrations.

I was taught 'Gong Ci Fat Choi', obviously a different accent/language. The first time I said it, it took the Chinaman a while to understand but when he did he was delighted!

BBC provides vital information:

"A light aircraft is a small plane which is suitable for carrying only a small number of passengers."

Reading further:

"The plane's wings could be seen in the garden from the main street, bent out of shape."

Anyone else lived in a street which was bent out of shape ?

(Today, Anglesey accident).

Good morning all, beautiful clear blue sky today, currently 19C, forecast max 26C. Been pottering in the garden, now to read the paper & do the cryptic.

With the exception of places bisected by the A5, pretty much everywhere on Anglesey is bent out of shape, as indeed are the denizens.
..and the aircraft - some needed full rudder trim just to hold straight at 420 kts.

Could access, just needed to click 'next' on the adverts.

Could access it only the once, though, before it went back to wanting me to log in.

So today I tackled one of those jobs we would all prefer to avoid. The seal at the base of the toilet in the master bathroom failed, with water (and other unpleasant content) occasionally leaking out onto the floor, and worse, leaking into the space under the floor.

Turned off the water, flushed to empty as much as possible, removed as much of what was left as I could, then unbolted and lifted the toilet off its mounting. Fun job of cleaning up all the muck and removing the old wax seal and mounting bolts before fitting a new set and putting the toilet back. Then I discovered that the bath sealant was solid in the tube, so tomorrow's job is applying some from a new tube all around the base of the toilet to seal it.

Morning folks. Rain promised last night but nothing. Now clear sky. Garden continues to die. Water getting even lower. Concern for the hippos. Bore hole holding out. Recently dropped it 4m so hopefully that will suffice.

Likewise.
Successful pottering this morning, then decided it would be a good time to oil the verandah rails while it wasn't too hot or raining. Another job out of the way for a while. Next will be the outdoor furniture.
Lawn mowed yesterday. All in all, a productive weekend.

Clear and cold here. First obligation of the day completed: fat Cat Marlene fed, now demanding more.
Looks as if we will have sun: nice to get a warm house.
