Condolences also from me K3K3.
Tango15; Possibly worth a thought!
This house has not been very lucky for me. In the ten years I've lived here, I've lost a much-loved cat, a much-loved son, and a much-loved wife. Time to move, I think...

Morning folks. Town day not a bad run in. Hot and humid hoping for a thunderstorm.

Morning all. Bright sunny start to the day in Teddington. Virii appear to have departed from our bodies so happy.
Nice to lay a favourite cat to rest in a Garden. I still say 'hi' to my Buster when I pass his burial spot. Fourteen years now.
Condolences, K3K3.

An aircraft went over last night at 23:48. It sounded like the fans were in the bedroom. Just checked, a BA777 at 2300'. Deviations in course between LHR and us (one minute) brought it right over us.

In hospital on a drip all afternoon. Feeling better, will be in for a couple of weeks. Thanks for your thoughts.

My best wishes also.
A town day here too, but in somewhat different weather. Since last night we have successively had: rain, drizzle, freezing drizzle, and freezing rain. It had progressed to ice pellets by 6:30 am, but there were huge bargains to be had (for a change) so I decided to go for it. Got the ice off the car and headed in. The roads were slushy and just covered by ice pellets, but by staying in the tracks of the morning traffic it was a steady drive in. Very few out and about, which meant I could park close and whistle round the shops. The ice pellets were acting like snow by the time I'd finished, but as planned I headed back along the main, almost dead-straight highway. Unfortunately, the plow had done the opposite carriageway but not mine yet. I trickled along at about 35 mph, but neither of the other vehicles I saw were going any faster. When the road turned north, there was an immediate switch to snow. The whole highway was covered, but only to a couple of inches. Other traffic disappeared, and I was alone in the wilderness, but at least the visibility improved. It felt like entering the Arctic; I was half expecting a polar bear to appear. Speed was down to about 15-20 mph for safety, with a definite wiggle from the tires if I did more than breath on the throttle; brake use a no-no. The road was invisible, but easy to estimate from the trees either side. Deft energy management got me up the hill and home without any alarums or excursions. Just going out can be a mini-expedition at this time of year. Tucked up now with fresh coffee and a warm danish by the woodstove.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread V
I got 14/15 for the first time after a long run of indifferent results. I'm always slightly bemused by the question "do you want to do it again?" why would one ever do that?
