After emails and texts from doctor's office asking me to confirm my upcoming appointment, which I did, they called me the afternoon before it to tell me that they were canceling it because the doctor did not take my insurance. ^!
A check of the insurance co.'s website and a call to them both confirmed that he was on their list. ~X(
Insurance rep called the doctor's office and was told that the office manager would contact me.
Radio silence. :-$
As the office is relatively close by I will pop in and talk to said manager. Always better to do face to face than by phone.

One dead, another fighting for life after Ballarat gold mine collapse
A man who was trapped hundreds of metres underground after a gold mine collapsed near Ballarat has been killed.
Police confirmed the body of the 37-year-old worker from Bruthen was recovered by crews this morning.
At least 28 workers escaped injury after making it to a "safety pod" when the gold mine at Mount Clear collapsed about 4.50pm yesterday. ...

Dangerous work.

Far from human dwellings they cut a shaft, in places untouched by human feet; far from other people they dangle and sway.

I didn't realise that Ballarat was still 'active'.

Good morning all, blue sky today, currently 29C, forecast max 33C.
Mrs H looks like coming home tomorrow and is already planning her social calendar. Thank you all for your good wishes.

I think the Ballarat mine that's had the fatality is only about 10 years old - may be misinformed. Apparently it's had a chequered safety history under previous owners. Coming from 5 generations of miners, I always swore I'd never work underground. As it happened, I only had a bit of involvement with a couple of open cut mines.

They finally called back this afternoon to say that they had gotten the issue sorted out and that they had escalated it to their corporate office where someone apparently had enough functioning brain cells to figure things out.
I was offered an appointment for tomorrow however that conflicted with an appointment to have a crown placed on my implant.
Next available appointment is three weeks out.
Not happy but it will have to do. ~X(

PHXPhlyer, it sounds like our medical services are better organised to facilitate the exchange of money for medical care. Doctors have contacted us when promised (and to check that other doctors have contacted us.) All records are where they are supposed to be, and the hospital & GP are each doing what the other expects. Can't wish for better than that.
My only (minor) complaint is with the time it took the ambulance to get here, almost an hour, apparently due to a very busy Monday night. However, their care when they got here was excellent.

I have been with this practice since the first of last year.
The group has different specialties spread out over four floors of one building and all of the medical records are shared so there is little effort needed to keep everyone on the same page.
My only complaint, other than the question over insurance and loss of appointment slot, is that my new PCP retired after just over a year with him and my endocrinologist went to the Big Leagues (Mayo Clinic) and I couldn't fault her for making the leap.
I have yet to meet my new PCP and the doc that I had trouble being seen by is also new to me.
Time will tell.

Morning all. Partly cloudy, sun twinkling thru now and then. Quiet morning, early lunch, then up to town.

Morning folks. Hot broken Cu. Watering the bananas but they really don't like the borehole water. Also not helped by the idiot over fertilizing.

Happy Pi Day! :YMPARTY:

I was in Costco yesterday wanting to buy sliced almonds, which I have purchased there in the past.
I couldn't find any so I asked at Customer Service. They looked them up an said that they had been discontinued and were only available at the Holidays.
I responded by saying that we were in the middle of Ramadan, had just celebrated Mardi Gras, tomorrow is Pi Day, Saint Patrick's Day is this Sunday, and Easter is coming up. :D
Aren't any of those Holidays good enough for sliced almonds? :-? :ymdevil:

Oof what a day. Fun little MTB ride in the woods with a friend and his pooch. (Half Husky/Half Rottweiler). It was going well until I got a flat tyre. Grr.
Legs had a bit of a work out and then nuked them in the gym in the afternoon!

Good morning all, started out with blue skies after light overnight rain, but it's now clouding over. Currently 21C, forecast max 25C. Mrs Hydro is currently on her way home from the hospital.

For the attention of Admin please. I have just tried to send you a P.M. from my P.M, site, but it appears to still be in my Outbox ? If so, what can I do to ensure that it gets sent ? Thank you.
