Independent today:

"Spending a lot of time on the computer may be linked to an increased risk of erectile dysfunction in men, researchers have said.

A study of more than 200,000 men indicates that for every additional 1.2 hours spent using a computer, the chances of experiencing erectile dysfunction increased by 3.57 times."

(But only in men, you'll notice)

Does that depend on whether the man concerned is watching porn?

After a red sky 'smorning the day is sort of closing in, cloud lowering, looking misty.
Magpie going warble warble warble somewhere nearby.
This has been an exceptionally good season for stone-fruit - have been enjoying eating the most delicious fresh apricots and nectarines for the past couple of months. Fresh strorberries still available.

Still no access to quiz.

Temp. 10°C expecting 17°C.

Thanks Karearea, you & me both. Did a couple of hours in the workshop yesterday & didn't feel too bad, but fell in a heap in the afternoon.

I have reached the tipping point, temperature wise that is.
Temps are now in the 80s daytime and high 50s overnight.
I will now be keeping doors and windows open overnight and closed during the day to delay the the employment of the electricity sucking air conditioner.
I will also attempt to repair the supply line to the swamp cooler that the roofers damaged and also install the attic vent fan that has been waiting to be installed for several years.

Morning all. A grey start to the day. Legs aching but hardly surprising given the walking I'm doing each day.

Good morning fellow members. I have a doctor's appointment at noon to get a sick note as I have a cold that fortunately is more annoying than anything else.

Not much else planned for the day.

Morning folks. Hot. CAVOK. No state pension for 2 months. Phoned them, very efficient. Reason, they have sent two letters to my residential address and I haven't replied. There are no deliveries in the bush. In fact there are no deliveries in town it has to be to our post bag. We checked it yesterday and there was post from 2022. I explained this to them. They refuse to e-mail. If it stops again guess it will be another phone call. The delay in post was guess what - Covid backlog. ^!

Anyone seen that news item about the vast increase in people with mental health issues ? As Rod Liddle wrote in last week's Sunday Times, "I can't be arsed to put out the bins for rubbish collection because I've got mental health issues..."

I doubt a "vast increase" is possible. What is being seen is that more people are admitting to their mental health issues because it is now profitable to do so.
And you can take that both the humorous and the serious way.

Possibly the last blast of winter outside, -15 windchill, light snow, blowing a hoolie. Next week looks like the shift to positive overnight temperatures, which is Spring proper.
In between, we may get a foot of snow over the next 24 hours, or nothing. The forecasts have been swapping between the two all week. Firewood is piled high, and the coffee's on.

Good Morning All

20°c, 26°c predicted by the runes.

A Calima late yesterday does not seem to have left a severe mark.
Car needs a bath though.

Once more Friday comes around. Four weeks have passed so it is State Pension day too.

SM off to the GP shortly to see results of tests and see if he can sort her pain or figure where to send her.
We did a blood derived eye drops run to AGP yesterday. Traffic was quite light.

Not christened dinner yet, feeding SM is getting quite difficult with allergies and low spice tolerance.

I posted this on "Are there any animal killers out there'. A minister here is threatening to send 10,000 of our ellies into Hyde Park to see what the Brits think about having an ellie problem.

Note that our entire estate here is being left to an elephant conservation charity. This very controlled culling is a part of conversation.

A random experience in the supermarket yesterday afternoon: I was in the tea and coffee aisle hunting for my favourite teabags when an older lady came towards me and remarked along these lines,

"I don't know what all the fuss is about, a cup of tea can't make that much difference. Can it? "

She was looking at me expectantly, awaiting a response, and I have no idea who she was or what she was talking about or who she thought I was :-\

I made myself invisible and moved away...
