Electricians have finished. Only failed to fix the pool light which would have involved them digging up loads of cable so told them to forget it. It is entertaining but attracts loads of bugs. The guest accommodation did not require a new transformer just reconnecting a wire eaten by a rat.

I have told him to tell his creative accountancy mother not to treat us like a luxury lodge. We are pensioners. Gave him 10 lemons. Told him to give one to his mother. Probably will still get a horrendous bill.

Update:
Inspection via borescope successful.
Doc said everything looked OK with one small polyp removed. Path. report due Monday.
While the prep was easier, the "end" result was as could be expected. :((
Spent more time doing paperwork and waiting for D#2 to pick me up than total time for w"hole" procedure. ~X(
I wish falling asleep was always that easy, except without the IV.
Still depressurizing but otherwise OK.

Have to say, once I'd got over the polyp-bit "Hoy, that's bits of me you're snipping off" I got bored and went to sleep on the table anyway. But t'other thing that surprised me was the relaxed way they went about it.
A surprised Jim: "Gosh, are you in already?"
"Yes, do you want to have a look? Nurse, wheel that other monitor across."

A bit like a mechanic inviting you to look at a job he - I suppose I should say (s)he - has done hundreds of times...

Afternoon all. Surprisingly warm here today at the dog show. Was a bit chilly this morning but currently wearing teeshirt, and I had to dig out a fan to hang on the dog crate in the van. Dog now sleeping next to me in the motel room.

Autumn afternoon: blue dome; 18°C; a chemtrail visible earlier from a flight to Queenstown;
first golden tints among the tree-leaves; washing drying in the breeze;
Monarch butterflies still flapping around;
someone along the street chain-soring earlier and the fragrance from the 2-stroke engine wafting this far;
a green praying mantis looking all stately on a dahlia.
And with the morn, those angel faces smile...

Warm here again today, max 34C forecast. Keeping an eye on & feeding neighbours' dog for the weekend, as their dog-sitter (a relative) dropped out ill at the last moment. Went in to feed her this morning & no sign of her, & not responding to calls. We heard her briefly at 10 pm last night, so thought one of their other relatives may have picked her up then. Rang neighbour and that wasn't the case, but they said that if she got out she will come home soon. Went back an hour later and dog is home, no sign of where she could get out or back in. Fed her and left her looking quite comfortable in the house. She has a doggie door. Will take her for a walk when it cools down.

Not cheating; wasn't given the choice.
From listening to the chatter before and after they put me under, it seemed like they were running a production line with no time for any deviations.
I think that they had two or more procedure rooms, and each had one patient doing paperwork, one being prepped, one in the room, and one in recovery.
3-4 per hour / per room, the numbers add up in a day.
Money printing operation.

I've never been offered an alternative. Our local operation is similar to PHXPhlyer's. Several rooms, very much a production line and as you say, a money printing operation.

A shade over 40C here today. Seems that Summer is not finished with us as of yet. :-?

Still a bit warmish over in Bots, Ex Ascots?

Buenas

Lovely blue day, presently 16c, high of 20c expected which seems on the low side.

Been for a wander in town with Ed and bought lottery ticket for next two weeks, as I shall be in the UK next Saturday.

Very quiet in town, long distance buses not busy and very few people heading for the station and the train to the airport.
