Off to bed after my evening walk. Breezy but south wind full of moisture: arrived home soaking wet with perspiration, as usual. Ambushed by Little Cat: luckily I was carrying cat food.
OFSO:
I envision you opening your trench coat revealing pockets for cat food, dog treats, carrots for horses and donkeys, bird food, rabbit food, and all manner of treats for sundry other critters. ^:)^ :-bd :YMAPPLAUSE:

...."opening your trench coat and revealing".....
I wondered what you were going to write there. :D

Op has move again. This time two days earlier. Now next Wednesday.
Which puts myself and Mrs HF in isolation. Fortunately there is enough whisky in the house
to keep me going.

Actually PHP it's trousers which you call pants, with multiple pockets, and only cat food and only for one special cat. My hands, are always full with bags, food packaging, and bottles, plastic, recycling, and a stout stick to fight off wild boar, although they come out later. I've also seen one Follet this summer...muttered something in its own language and ran off on all fours.

The trench coat with many pockets might come in handy as it gets cooler.

Dark green anorak when it gets cool. I like solitaty walks. I was hoping for another lockdown but the Supreme Court ruled it illegal, along with most other measures.

And here we are again, Thursday Laundry Day. Its been raining so first load on the line under the awnings. More rain ahead damping everything down. Might see the FireBoss aircraft withdrawn from the drop zone at the week end.

Morning all.

So that's where the rain has gone to.

Clear blue sky today and 21c going up to 28c this afternoon.
My hands, are always full with bags, food packaging, and bottles, plastic, recycling, and a stout stick to fight off wild boar,
I quite frequently find that I don't have enough hand capacity.

We have squirrels. Cheeky things collecting cob nuts from next door and either eating them or burying them on the lawn or going to the drey. This morning our Scottie knew something was afoot and insisted on going into the front court yard.
Once clear she stood near the path to the garden. Confident as ever a squirrel came hopping around to just two feet from the jaws of death. Only the squirrel was surprised and trees to climb. Good game as she chased it down the garden.

A Follet? Now I confess OFSO, that I had never heard of one of these apart from family friends many years ago, who had that surname. Giggle has revealed nothing except a famous author and some sort of strange French balloon-like creature - do tell!

What's worse - brown rain, yellow snow or a golden shower?
It's always my fault - SWMBO

OFSO has either borrowed PN's spell-checker and seen a Ferret...or come across a French tourist whilst perambulating?
FOLLET - nickname for a foolish or eccentric person

A follet is a goblin, in Catalan. Rarely seen as too many humans about these days. The son of a friend was in shock, ill for several days after meeting one and having it speak to him in an unknown language. My belief is that these and similar apparitions are short-lived intrusions from parallel universes, the ones where quantum particles go now and then. What I saw, late night walk during curfew, didn't speak to me but did stand up on its hind legs when I approached. Categorised me as human, shook it's head and walked off.

I suspect that there are weak points here and there in the natural barriers between universes. Under stress these momantarily give way, allowing the transit of humans or other creatures: in one case, a complete Roman legion. Many instances, are on record but few give them serious credence because. However as Sherlock Holmes said, "once one has eliminated... " etc.

Look up The Green Children of Woolpit or Kasper Hauser, for example or Joseph Vorin, or the soldier Gil Perez. The lost Roman Legion was the Ninth, no trace of them ever found, although since they vanished in Scotland more plausable theories have been raised.
