The clock in this 17-second video appears to be identical with mine (apart from the little plate attached below the dial).

I don't open the back door of mine, there be dragons in there.

I grew up with the sound of this clock, it's so good to hear it still going:

Smiths Enfield Striking Mantel Clock

We have an identical one in our library here. Unfortunately some of the veneer is coming off due to damp storage in the UK. Think it was a leaving present from somewhere for my father.

C16.

Here, at 68N, the aurora has been very active for the past two weeks, but it has been continuously wet and cloudy at night and has not been visible.

Already had the first snowfall, last wednesday morning about 13cm on the car, but it melted around lunchtime.

Off toward the Russian border past Nellim today, picnic and pick lingonberries, watching out for bears and wolves.

Back for sauna before it gets dark.

Drive back south thursday and arrive, at southern, home saturday.

g'day,
20c, 25c from the runes, early cloud burning off, will be a nice day.

Monday = bedding day. first load in progress.

One has the delight of the GF bread hunt at the hypermarket, must do only enough for today.

Somehow missed - I hope it follows it's normal path and you feel better soon *Reddo*

Are you doing anything other than treating symptoms?
Keep getting better.

No, just rest, taking a cold & flu tab every now and then to manage the symptoms, food and fluids when I can. Over the worst of it now and just clearing up the remnants.

Glad you're getting better.
I lost 5kg in a week when I had it in August, I'm surprised some charlatan hasn't marketed it as "Wonder Weight Loss Virus, You Too Can Easily Lose 10lbs in One Week".

You want a wonder weight loss program??

I once went from 82kg to 67kg in about 2 weeks! :-ss

It's called Malaria! :ymsick:

Get better soon, Reddo.

Thanks every one. Over the worst now. I'm still trying to figure out my sense of taste. Most things are fine but some things taste weird. Worst of all, white wine. I should try some red wine for balance. :D If I have too much, I'll lose my balance :D

k3k3 - oof. Indeed!
OFSO - :(
Pinky - I've heard about this malaria malarkey. No thanks! Yuck!!

Yes, been there, done that. I was a callow youth of 19 at the time. My poor old ma thought I was going to die. Don't know how much weight I lost, but it must have been a good few kilos. Its remnants came back to haunt me every September for about 30 years, but thankfully it's given up now.

Pneumonia and four days of hospitalisation with massive chills and fever will also produce ample unwanted weight loss.
Ask me how I know.

Good morning, just -0.1°C at the moment, expecting 11°C. Very clear, going to be sunny when the sun rises.
Having difficulty in keeping usual hours after Daylight Time imposed.

12 PM with many fewer guesses.

G-CPTN - only problem with that is that the rest of the world isn't =)) It means you are either late or early for everything by multiples of 10 minutes. It was always chaos at clock change in airlines when crew 'forgot' the change and either spent an hour in the coffee bar or had a frantic race to get to the a/c before pushback............. It was even worse before we 'harmonised' with Europe, and trying to work out a pick-up time from the hotel when France had changed and the UK hadn't and the roster was, of course, written on GMT........... Aargh!

Same thing with hotel room clocks twice a year after time change.
Some clocks had automatic DST settings but the previous occupant or maid made the change manually. [-X
Always an adventure as was everything about staying in three different hotel chains in three different cities every week. ~X(

I should point out that mother-in-law was never an aviation professional.
