TGG, unless it's much worse on the ground, it looks immaculate compared with Reading.

Why don't those white, middle class, Karen's and retired idiots not picket these festival sites and turn back any of woke snowflakes that try to go home empty handed.?

My better half has just received a surprise phone call from a friend of ours, who we presumed was still in Australia. She arrived back in Blighty this week, despite the Covid lockdown, due to the sad death of her mom here. Apparently our friend was struggling with officialdom in Australia, and in the UK, who were persuaded to relent, and allowed her to travel to the UK for the funeral, after the intervention of the powers that be, here in the UK. I had not realised that her mom was a recipient of the Albert Medal (now the George Cross). We walk in the company of angels unawares sometimes...

Serendipity! In searching for the obituary of the lady I noted above, I discovered that Charles Bruce had been decorated. I read his book "Freefall" written under the nom de plume 'Tom Read'. It was a sad tale of a man who literally fell into madness after his experiences as a soldier and chasing Joe Kittinger's freefall parachuting record. The book was a redemptive one, and dealt very candidly and movingly with his mental breakdown. Sadly he later committed suicide, after jumping out of his girlfriend's Cessna when they were en route back to Cambridge while travelling back from a parachuting competition in Spain. Tis a sad story!

Sadly, it's that time of year when we Northerners must hand over custody of Old Sol to the Southern hemisphere for the next six months.

The Sun's declination passed from +ve to -ve at 19:21z this evening.

The good news, for me, is that it marks the early beginning of the astro season. :-bd

Saw a Tesla S taxi in York yesterday a bit surprised at that.
A Westland Wildcat of the Army Air Corps has just passed over the mansion, noisy bugger.
Just getting over a migraine.
The back field was harvested.
A second Westland Wildcat has also passed over!
A busy day..

Migraine, sympathy. I'm out of my migraine season and I should not get any until Spring, but you never know.

Just back from my nightwalk. Nobody about, no cars. One hungry little cat.

Best wishes to Billy and HF, may they be joined in harmony.

I saw an unmarked police car with light and sirens in Exeter yesterday, nothing remarkable in that you may say, except it was a Tesla Model S.

Fire up the Quattro they used to say, now they have to check the battery charge on the Tesla first.

So when the national grid 'collapses' no more police chases?

At Dr this morning for my annual check-up. Last one was 2007 so perhaps not so annual after all. Blood and pee. Trouble with latter. Receptionist Helga said did I want a drink to help. I said sure, a G&T would be fine. Laughter. They are used to English humour, but still didn't get my G&T. Instant diagnosis for noises/pressure in the head by Herr Dr, but sent for neck x-ray tomorrow to make sure. Mrs OFSO said it's not the neck should be done but the arse since that's where I'm a pain.

Morning folks. Nice day, gets rather warm in the afternoons now. Feet in the pool (not body yet) and cold beer time. Yep, thanks for the sun guys.

Told night security chap last night that we now had a new battery so shouldn't have a power cut. He said he thought that the lights were brighter. Hasn't quite got the concept of inverters, regulators etc.

We managed to get into here: https://www.kwando.co.bw/splash for next weekend. Only a 30 min puddle jumper hop. Got 3 nights plus flights for just over the cost of one person for one night. Pays to be able to just wander into their company HQ and be a tour operator - retired but they don't know that. We do still promote them so don't feel guilty.

For which I say, thanks awfully old chap! Dashed nice of you lot.

Actually got to around 28C here today after getting down to 5c overnight. Even managed to take off my jumper (pullover) this afternoon.

Weather Bureau is predicting an extra hot Summer this year for South Australia with above average humidity. :-o

Seem to remember that they said something similar for last Summer. And they got that wrong too. :-?

Kindly take care of the Sun. We might want it back next March or about. And I hope they are wrong about the heat and humidity of the summer

Hola,
Only 23c with a guess of 28c, no chance.
Windy now gusting 58 km/hr
Earlier when I wrote and did not submit, again, I was undecided as to if it was 'Broken' or 'Scattered'
The decision has been made as it is now 'Overcast'

I have a new strimmer head to play with. The original was attacked by SM's gardener who is not overburdened with intelligence, he had a fatang moment with it.
I think he was trying to replace the cord anyway there are bits missing, lost, and it no longer feeds.

I will adjourn to the garage

Hiding indoors with doorbell and gate motor switched off in case rude Frenchman appears and wants to View house. My action probably saved him a punch in the face, which he deserved yesterday. Mrs OFSO suggested putting a notice on the door "French nationals not admitted to View without proof of Covid vaccination" which would solve a lot of problems.

Agent bringing Viewers tomorrow. I asked. They are Spanish looking for a main residence, not a holiday home.
