Good morning, sun shining, clouds around, 7°C expecting 11°C but then a much cooler change and rain.
Enjoying a morning lemon-juice from a very fresh and aromatic lemon off my own tree.

ricardian - interesting to read about the Wright family.
And with the morn, those angel faces smile...

Afternoon folks. A bit quiet here on the thread today unlike our lagoon a very noisy booze boat this afternoon. Black bastards.

Been nice weather today. Clear skies, cool start but made mid 30s. Went to the safari camp at lunchtime. We were the only people there.

Booze boat coming past again. Wish we had a torpedo. Ignorant inconsiderate bastards. Full blast jungle bunny noise.
Do they have any right to be there ? I presume it is there,s.
The tasteless Essex pikey millionaire up the road is making a noise tonight too. Another interminable party.

It is not about race, ultimately. White kaffirs/black kaffirs, all the same!

The flat wot we now own, in a small block of twelve, seems to be surrounded by people, like us, of a travellin' nature who touch ground now and then in Teddington. The ones that are present suffered today from my IKEA assembly activities, noisy as I dropped things. One more day should see it finished....

I want all my neighbours to be part an order of contemplative nuns, Catholics or Anglicans preferred! ;)))

Not a word, no music, just peace and smiles. :)

The 6th has passed with no mention of Hiroshima which should never be forgotten.

I forgot this morning.

Funny that, of all the many "Historical" days/dates that I remember, Aug. 6th is not one of them. Hardly ever mentioned.

Never been to Hiroshima but while taking a tour of Nagasaki memorials the courier said ' The Japanese people will never forget but they don't blame anyone' An Australian in the group responded,'If you had fought a more honourable war it would not have happened'

Morning folks. Another noisy one from some bastard working on his land up river. If we go and complain he will just turn the noise up. Then we will have the booze boat this afternoon. Under Botswana law it is illegal to make a noise that disturbs other people. The owners of the booze boat are a government minister and an influential businessman. No one is prepared to do anything about it including our chief. Everyone on the big boat buys the captain a drink. He is dead drunk by the end of the cruise.

Ribrash:
Do they have any right to be there ? I presume it is there,s
. As long as a boat is registered you can put it on any river here. Fortunately many of the smaller booze boat have now gone back to town as the river is full there now.

Edit. Now a church service had started up behind us in the bush with jungle drums ~X(
'Yes, Madam, I am drunk, but in the morning I shall be sober and you will still be ugly.' Sir Winston Churchill.

In the end the day got up to 15°C this morning and I had all the windows open for a while.
Now, as forecast, it's around 2°C and one watches the rain to see if it's sleeting, or what... :-?
And with the morn, those angel faces smile...

Good Moaning All,

Guess 31c, Blue dome, 27c rising should make 33c as the last few days.

Standard Sunday, later in the day there are plants to go in, after 18.00 or so when the sun goes off the garden.

Ricardian-thanks for posting the article on Katharine Wright. I for one had never heard of her. A very interesting and accomplished woman. You always find such interesting information. Keep it coming :-bd

Better half's Australian stepsister is coming to stay tonight. Table for 3 booked at local restaurant. TGA is on his best behaviour as she who must be obeyed rushes around in an orgy of domesticity, vacuum cleaner and duster brandished as Zulus might assegais!

The weather is perfect today. All the 9's and not too hot. It is on days like these.😉

D2 and one of her old school friends dropped in this afternoon, after taking Mrs Hydro to see Moulin Rouge yesterday. Funny, I still think of her friend as a school kid, rather than a middle-aged lawyer & mother of teenagers.
Reminded that when they were at school, her father & I took the pair of them out to dinner while our wives were away somewhere. The girls dressed up to the nines, it was a big deal for them.
Being a small country town, when our wives returned, one of their 'friends' who was a waitress told them she'd seen us with a couple of younger women.

Funny thing, this happened to me once, only the other way round.
Mrs Jim: "But he doesn't have a daughter"
Fortunately it was 'business'. It was a funeral discussion and the bonny young wench was the next of kin. Anyway, that's my story.

Humidex of 29 and 96% humidity pre-dawn this morning. If I'd wanted to live in the jungle I'd have moved there! I've done 4 hard hours in the garden and am now downing tools for the day - it's hot out there!

That's what I go to England for. Sunday Lunch at the Kings Arms in Teddington, Roast Beef and Yorkshire and a pint of Guinness, out back in the Garden.
