Heavy rain this morning and now the sun is shining but still windy. Taking the wife to the (very good) Polish dentist at 1600 for a new crown.

Sunshine and showers, bloody heavy ones, here at the eastern edge of the known world. Down to a single car for a few days as both were due for MOT (the annual mandatory roadworthiness check) and mine for a service.
Both failed and required relatively minor replacement parts at a total cost of about £850. Acceptable as that will probably be the only repair/service costs for the next year.

No known side or any other effects from this year's flu vaccination. Probably distilled water yet again. CV booster shots in January: I've heard they are walk-in in UK so may try there in December if everyone is not dead by then.

Not walk in yet and strictly 180 days or more between 2 and 3.

CV booster may be difficult if you are not recorded on the NHS system as already been given shots 1 and 2.

Indeed, and to expect our 'joined-up' government to be able to assimilate Spanish vaccination records into the NHS.................. =))

At one point in my life, the night train from Germany to Italy was a two-monthly event for me, and very pleasant too. Never had to share my two-berth cabin with anyone and only ever woke during the switching of carriages somewhere in Switzerland.

(Morning all!)
In 1980 I was working at Brora (Sutherland) and had a 9 month, residential course at Bletchley Park. Every month I got a free, first-class return on the Euston/Inverness sleeper. Left Euston at 9pm on Friday, arrived Inverness 9am on Saturday. Inverness to Brora took an hour or so. Return on the Sunday 9pm Inverness to Euston and got back to BP in time for lunch.

Yet if, like me, you qualify for a third dose rather than a booster then, in Scotland at least, you can have that by appointment 8 weeks after the second dose. A booster may follow my third Pfizer jab if JCVI approve that in due course.

Dentist today. Since making the appointment last week, the symptoms (gum infection?) have disappeared, but The Man (German, excellent) can have a look.

C16, if the letter I got from Renal last week is anything to go by, then JCVI have already approved
a third jab followed by a booster 6 months later for those immuno-suppressed. By a matter of bad
timing I got the letter after I'd had the booster but as there is no difference between the 3rd jab and
the booster it doesn't really matter.

Raining and chilly here (7°C) but promises of sunshine for the rest of the day.
Still dark out there.

Morning folks.

Tis only 15c with a clear blue sky. However it is expected to get into mid 20s this afternoon.

No ill effects of flu jabs here.

It's Art for Art's Sake Day again.

The BBC Radio 4 Today programme and it's presenters are extremely annoying this morning. It will be expulsed from the house as sooon as madam departs. Never heard so much false news and misinformation. A new low today for Today.

Thanks for that info.

Bright. sunny and windy here after recent rain though it's still only 5C. Central heating on full blast and for this first time this autumn donned my thick winter pully before a walk with the dog.

Greetings gentlefolk,
21c for 26c, cloudless. Viz not the best but OK.
A decreasing chance of rain mañana, down to 55% now it was 95% on Monday.

We have an Estate Agent coming at noon to have a look round.
Fixed Fee not the ludicrous percentages wanted by most.
4% not unusual, we have been told 6% by one lot of novelists, they were dismissed.

SM is then off to the ophthalmologist this evening, I do hope he can do something for her.
I have to drive as she can't see with all the junk they put in her eyes.
We'll be eating late tonight.

I need to put on trousers not shorts for the last dog follow, distinctly cool around the kneecaps at 23.30.

I moved my swim session at 8:00 am. So I ended up sharing the lane with a retired military man. He insists I am using his first name I am stuck with calling him with his rank. Maybe I should start calling Ex-A with his rank too.

Our (German) dentist was running late this morning. When I got in he wanted to have a chat about UK, our plans for the future, Covid etc. Then poked under the gum and pushed and tapped teeth. Could find nothing wrong. Looked at last set of scans. "Come back if it hurts again." I went to get the bill, his assistant said "oh Dr B says there's nothing to pay... "

On the review sites, this dentist is rated by patients the best in Spain. I concur. Technically adroit.

Our local farcebook community page revealed a girl who appeared to be 'Maori' walking through the suburb trying the car doors parked in driveways,...being a fine upstanding criminal from another Country, and very short on brain cells shes been caught out and is in the local watch house, we're sending her back to where she came from John, John, teach her not to steal, and appreciate the Country that extends the hand of opportunity to her is a hand she should not bite!

Drat. Going to get really wet this weekend. Seems we have an atmospheric river passing through.
https://cw3e.ucsd.edu/cw3e-ar-update-20 ... 1-outlook/ “Portions of Northern California may receive more than 10 inches of total precipitation over the next 7 days The strongest AR is forecasted to make landfall across Central and Northern California on Saturday, potentially bringing AR 4/AR 5 conditions to the San Francisco Bay Area”
Tesla does not like rain, she is not keen on the exercise involved in dog shows and she's getting both this weekend. However, she really likes to come on the trips. If it wasn't the regional specialty then I wouldn't have entered her in the veteran class. Kepler largely doesn't care about the rain, she'll happily get soaked.
