Morning folks. Nice gin clear day 33C promised. Not bad for mid winter. Two very noisy boats yesterday. They have all just been paid. All the hippos are still here been making a noise all night. Don't mind that it is nature. Safari camp for a few beers.

Nasty train crash in India. Looked up the worst ever. Surprise, surprise that was India as well.
Edit sorry it was Sri Lanka. 2004 1,700 dead.

Gorgeous day for cruising on me canal. However, wasn't a case of simply reclining on the deck and absorbing the rays, there was work to be done. Our trip boat skipper had reported underwater obstacles at some of the bridges so we went in search.

Recovered a very expensive wheel clamp, some electrical cable insulation which the pikeys had dumped after nicking the copper core and a huge sheet of steel. Somewhat baffled why someone would dump the steel sheet, which measured 10' x 6' and 1/4 of an inch thick, in the canal. T'was bloody heavy! It has scrap value at least.

Put the steel to good use.
Up-armor the bow of your canal boat for ramming purposes. :D

You are doing a Good Thing for yer canal, 4ma.

Cloudy and chilly smorning at 7.5°C, supposed to reach 12°C, bit dubious about that unless the sun comes out. Cold and rain expected later.

Out earlier; noticed that some exhilarated driver has left a 50-metre long black tyre-mark on the road-surface around the corner and down the next street, it wasn't me ^#(^

Full Moon in a few hours' time, it was very large and silvery when it rose last evening, but unlikely to see it tonight given the weather forecast.

Little light rain overnight. Cloudy this morning, currently 13c, max forecast 18c. When I went out to put some garbage in the bin, a king parrot was waiting for me. Put a little seed out for him. These birds are very placid.

They're very quiet and curious. I've had several fly into the workshop and land, just to see what's happening. There's a well-known one around here with one leg who's turned up there a couple of times.

No, although when he first came in he landed on the table saw. If he makes a habit of that he'll lose the other one.

Maybe he has other woodworking shops on his route. :-?
The least you could do is build him a nice custom birdhouse. :D

A 'king parrot - seems quite placid - and not an annoyance.

OFSO-Several years ago, my aunt and I were walking along the tow path between Hampton Court and Kingston. I was surprised at the number of green parrots flying about. She said they had been there for many years, apparently the result of someone letting out a pet bird! And yes, they were very noisy. Hope your derriere is feeling better :-bd

Hola,
23c going for 26c, clouding over slowly.

Pollen filter changed on RAV, that fitted unbelievably bunged up.

Now it's ritual and the Verstappen procession.

Concerning my derriere: I have just spent two hours sitting with my Protestant buttocks and bruised prostate on a hard wooden bench in a Papist church. So....

Couldn't you sit on a cassock or even a choir boy?

Very bad jungle bunny noise from booze boats yesterday. Apparently many more cruise boat stations have opened up, up river due to the river through town being dry. They have bars and camp sites. It seems to be Thursday, Friday and Saturday are the worst. They come from miles away and I think Sunday that they have to get back home.

Eggs chips, bacon and baked beans for Sunday lunch. Requires the generator for the dry frier for 40 mins. Expensive chips.
