Morning folks. Internet problems all yesterday. Thought I would leave it until 17.00 to report. They were here at 09.00. My suspicions were confirmed. A squirrel had eaten through the booster dish cable. 80 km round trip cos of a squirrel. Don't know if we are going to billed for it. Very good company based here they just cover the town and outskirts. We are at the limit of their coverage.

Squirrels now using guerilla gnawing tactics in the ongoing war eh! ;)))

One of our dogs, Yenna, sadly deceased, once bit though my modem's cable (remember cable modems) while I was online. The silly hound sat there looking silly, but not at all crestfallen, after having received a low voltage shock. One had to laugh! :)
My necessaries are embark'd: farewell. Adieu! I have too grieved a heart to take a tedious leave.

Good news mate. Bit worrying that you aren't exactly sure of the cause. We have spiders here that inject parasites with the bite. Friend's daughter got them.
Lyme disease is similar, ticks inject Borrelia bacterium that cause the disease.

I've also been told that it has been found in horse flies that live along water ways in Germany.

Nothing like having the doctor open up a lump on a child's back to have hoardes of tiny spiders jump out. We were told they live in antique furniture which the father had put in the child's bedroom.

The insulating plastic of Genuine Apple computer power cords are made with catnip or some similar substance that is attractive to cats.
I have replaced more than a few for my kids' computers that were chewed through. Took to uparmoring them with duct tape or plastic coil.

Heavy rain, then Tramontana, everything dry in ten minutes. Glorious sunset, clouds every colour imaginable (and some not) lit from below through the mountains.

There is something in the white plastic used on the insulation. The only cat-chewed cabled we've had were a couple of white USB leads, by one of our other cats. I did once see Kepler chomp on a vacuum cleaner cord from across the room, and she noticeable jumped. Never saw her do it again.

Fuel quite cheap in Horncastle -unleaded 152.9p per litre, diseasel 174.9p per litre. A lot cheaper than the robin baskets at our local Shell station.
It's always my fault - SWMBO

One is somewhat envious. Not so much about the first part, but definitely the second. :)

Feeling v. much the master of the house this evening.
Two radiators have been cold since the Autumn switch-on. "Thermostatic valves" sez I "Never replaced them since we bought the place eleven years ago. I'll get one and try a swap"
First radiator, behind Mrs Jim's desk. Took the old one off. Main valve underneath: little nipple stuck down. Smart tap, then a pull with yer needlenoses: trickling sound. Put the old valve top on and she's still working a treat.
Second rad, didn't even have to mess with the tit. Head off, head on, it works.
Anyone want to buy a cheap thermostatic valve?

(Wish domestic upheaval was always sorted this quickly)

Saturday lunchtime at the moment: "Black Friday" nonsense continuing in adverts. - if something is "now only $649" it's still not going to be an impulse buy for me.

Inch and a half of rain forecast over the next 36 hours, neighbour is busily watering their garden.

Enjoying a very nice cup of coffee with milk and cream.

I doubt if I'd impulse buy something for that price, unless it was clearly worth thousands and I though I could resell it for more (and could be arsed). However, if it was something I wanted and was significantly reduced, I might be persuaded to bring forward an impending purchase.

I came close to doing an impulse buy of a folding electric bike from Costco,
The only thing that stopped me was that only the first 8 reviews would load (all positive and I couldn't see the less than positive ones).

Tell Mrs. ExS, tho' adnittedly she only paid $7.00 for 6 steak knives, but we still didn't need them and now have 12 for 2 people.

My New Year's Resolution ? To try and close down the local Briscoes ! ( NZ Dept. store ) Fat chance, open 'till Midnight Thursday and "Black Friday" but "Sale ?" on until Monday night at normal shop hours. I don't believe that they are losing money at the so called "Sale" prices, so for the rest of the time they are screwing us.

Morning, all. Wind, cold and dry, still blowing hard. Gym today as missed it yesterday, weekly shop with the Mrs. Usual four bags of groceries, I think we must have lodgers but never seen 'em. Got 10% off at Monserrat Hypermarket as Black Friday.

Planning to attend a tour of several gardens tomorrow; unsure whether there is an "If wet, at the Vicarage" plan.
Will take an umbrella.

Beautiful warm sunny day today. Vege garden is going mad, so took spinach, lettuce & potatoes to neighbours. Brown, purple & spring onions also ready to pull, and will have leeks and tomatoes soon. No mangoes this year though.😩
Spent a bit of time in the workshop this afternoon. The lid of the latest box is ready to sand and glue up.

Good Moaning all,

Cloudless, nearly 18c the seaweed is saying 19c, should manage that.

Nobody for cladding conclusion all week. One gets pissed off. No communication either.

Bad night, didn't go to bed until 02.25, went to sleep on the sofa cuddling H.
Awake just turned 0400 Cramp in both legs, couldn't stretch it out.

A quiet day I think.

SM has hurt herself climbing hills in the campo, luckily she has a physio on Monday.
