Morning all.

Taking car for annual service at 09.30. It is cloudy and 22c but should brighten up later.

Think you've got the blueprint for a new sitcom there ex-A. Seems very Monty Python esk.

Fog and mist here today but set to clear by 11:00 hrs. Weather set fair for helicoptering at Headcorn tomorrow and then on Sunday for the Battle of Britain Display, although there is a likelihood of heavy rain towards the end of the day at Duxford. Flying the spam can to the Isle of Silly Scilly on Tuesday. All in all, a bit of light aviation to look forward to over the next few days.

And, of course, as handsfree has so rightly pointed out, it is Friday...

Almost a joke:
Watching videos last night. Car stops on pedestrian crossing. Woman crosses, goes behind the car this leaving the marked crossing. Bloke crosses, reaches car, opens rear door, opens far door, gets out and crosses.
Brilliant.

HF, thank you for the reminder. Recently keeping track had become very difficult. Sitting in the garden, great whoosh, and there is a hot air balloon low over head, in its path a ridge and the field ahead with horses and the field in the crest with sheep. Must be Saturday.
It was actually Tuesday or Wednesday.

Greetings Gentlefolk,
22c crystal, guess 27c.

Little brother, to his relief, has tested -ve. he is returning tonight. SIL still in quarantine, returning Sunday night, subject to test.
He returns earlier due seat availability.

Seems to me the Legal System is about the same. We are advised that they "think" there is a case. The next stem is to engage a Medical Surveyor.
He needs Power of Attorney so that he can look at the hospital records not accessible to us. What we have access to is not good enough.1800 - 2000€.

If we decide to go ahead then we need to engage a Barrister to act on our behalf in the court.
I think Barrister is another spelling for print money.

This is beginning to look too expensive for us. Looks like years rather than months too.

A form of legal aid might be possible as we are pensioners. (hell I never thought I'd be calling myself that a few years ago)

There seems to be something in the house insurance but I think that is for defence not attack.

Pity the poor sod that has to service the aircon there.

I think it has worked this time...

TGG, once retired and finally freed from the tyranny of Le Weekend it is very easy to lose track.

Admittedly this can take a few years as dependency on tradesmen who tend to work a 5 day week, if they work at all, and more frequent servicing of various body parts as they wear out does create a frame work.

The Sunday roast can be deferred to midweek. The weekly shop, or rather the Waitrose delivery, is no longer the highlight of Saturday morning, and a weekend visit to the garden centre definitely avoided.

Another avoid not to be forgotten is travelling north on the A1 on a Friday afternoon as the great London exodus crawls passed.

Just after I retired, a friend asked me how it was going. I told him, very well and that I was busy doing things I wanted to do, and that work must have been holding me back. He asked me what day it was. I had no idea. Yup, he said, you're retired.

Still raining. Sorry OFSO! :(

And with TV on demand also freed from the tyranny of the TV - not the programmes you want to watch but the dross broadcast in between.

I find it useful with medication in packs which indicate 'day of the week'.

A/c doesnt need servicing. It is a pre-house-sale a/c, amazingly cheap, made in China. People selling houses have them installed before Viewings to make their house look good. Previous owner of this house was an English arsehole. Present owners very quiet and discrete Russians. Will say no more.

Two problems in any medical negligence case. First is getting someone qualified in law AND medicine. Second is that doctors don't like to testify against other doctors.

Mrs 1DC and I have just realised that we have been married for 55 years today, as a result we will go to a decent restaurant tonight. We really are pushing the boat out cos I have already taken her out for a bacon bap at lunchtime.

We know, I doubt we will go ahead, maybe if my Gestoria gets me the tax rebate she thinks she can.

Congratulations *1DCs* that is a long time, do you think you'll get on ?

Congrats DCs. Have some chips with it this evening even some tomato ketchup.

No hippos for some days but there is one grunting out front this evening.

One does not like to go over the top but we have both shouted at the thatchers next door to turn their radio off. Didn't work so I took the large axe around and threatened to smash it to pieces. The foreman said he would call the police. He doesn't know that they do not have a car. Anyway the noise has stopped. No point in messing about. =)) Probably get a visit tomorrow.

So not so much, "if its Tuesday it must be Belgium" but rather if its Friday it must be Dr Krollspell and the BP check, with the Waitrose delivery to follow in the evening. It can't be that bad! I trust you spend the hours between these weekly punctuation marks, writing your memoirs, bird watching, gardening and sipping exquisite wines in the evening to the sound of good music and the occasional tinkle of female laughter, and, of course, ops-normalising. ;))) :)
