Morning all. Am I alone here?
How very solipsistic of you OFSO, but, yes, you may very well be the only person here and my post may be yet another phantasm of your tortured mind!
Though you remain
Convinced

You must have somewhere
To go
Your destination remains
Elusive."

I'm not even sure I am here myself.

24° and 80% humidity yet again. I see the Canary Islands are experiencing earthquakes ever two to three minutes as magma works it's way upwards. Warnings have been issued.

Morning all.
Billy has been invited back to the City Hospital this morning as one of his blood tests is a bit "odd".
Something to do I suppose.

After yesterday's all day rain, today looks quite promising. High of 20°C and sunny periods.

Greetings Gentlefolk,
23c scattered, guess 29c. 70% possibility of rain but nowt on radar.

Hope William is ok at the horsepitil.

Little Bro has his day 8 PCR this morning with a result mañana. Hope it's negative.
Inevitably they are having trouble with the Barbadian health people getting the paperwork required by their insurance company.

That's it, nothing planned.

This whole covid testing regime is in danger of becoming an industry on it's own, just like the airport security checking of people and baggage has. It should be resisted. Some of these Governments and so called advisers calling for, and imposing these tests are simply control freaks.

Articles such as that quoted above are unhelpful in fighting this danger.

A positive test means you likely have COVID-19. A negative test means you probably did not have COVID-19

18:44 Local here and the solar / battery illuminated fountain is bubbling away in the bird bath, just outside the window, as a Beef Tostada dinner is being consumed.

I do hope Billy is well & good HF!

Major Laundry clean up today....was very dusty and neglected....all user friendly again now, including access to the external door that is never used anyway, but can be now if I so wished.

Had an old contractor come by today that I used to engage on behalf of Bodies Corporate (I don't actually what the equivalent is referred to in the US or the UK?...Owners Corporation?)...Anyway, He is a structural engineer, and he put my mind to rest about a few issues with the house, a few little cracks here and there, all 'cosmetic' apparently.

One of the advantages of living in an old house is the superior build quality. I know from experience a lot of properties I used to help manage, and a lot of them this very fellow wrote engineering reports on, built in the late 90's and onward, the quality was atrocious!

Uh....well...at this time...it's aided me in a mid life career change....so there is that....

I posted the article merely to raise awareness of what the PCR test process was, that was all...

The local doctor who will do tests which provide the desired result was robbed last week when Rumanian thieves rushed his surgery and took his strongbox. One of the thieves subsequently made a mistake, grabbing the handbag from a lady who runs a shop. Her boyfriend tracked the thief when he used her bank card, found him in the process of robbing another shop, and subdued him with extreme violence until the police arrived (and congratulated him).

From the other day's results Billy is doing very well.
The errant result was a measure of how much Tacrolimus is still in my system after 12 hours.
Too much is bad for the organs, particularly Billy, and too little means you're not getting enough
rejection suppression. Tacrolimus is an anti-rejection drug. They alter the dose of the drug depending
on this trough level. The last reading had dropped quite a bit for no good reason hence the re-vampiring.

The pal of Mrs HF who we fed and watered on Sunday has now seen the Dermatologist and been told it is melanoma.
Should be getting it removed on Friday and no doubt the whole story will become clearer when the pathology lab
have had a look at it.

On the bright side the window cleaner has been and the awful weather of yesterday has now turned into a much brighter
and drier day to enjoy.

Hope the foot gets better soon Ibbie

Yes indeed, great news HF, the 'vampiring' thing is something I should be able to do, should things work right, about the middle of next year I should have my Qualifications and placement (Hopefully).

It took 2 days to re obtain my USI (Unique Student Ident.), never knew I had one!, and application interview for course funding should occur on the 21st., Dr appoint will be needed very shortly to ascertain my vaccination status (All, not just Covid), and all in all, took about 1 hour & 20 mins just to complete the application to the Laboratory Training Facility.

(I suspect) I am not eligible for funding = $4,500 training ,....eligible for funding = $500, who's not going to try for funding!?!?!

Great stuff HF. You seem to get really good treatment. Like Mrs OFSO who has the sort of personality that charms medical staff. Me, on the other hand... I get written off as I walk in the door. Vulgar jokes which got a laugh in Germany are not understood in Spain/Catalunia.

Made town, hit booze shop in case we get another ban. Picked up new laptop. Now at our favourite restaurant who is serving pop but you can't sit at the bar! Quick snack then cop shop. After that to the hotel to meet IT guy to set up computer and sink a few beers.

HF great. OFSO the doctors say to Mrs Ex-Ascot. 'Is he always like this?' Yep.
'Yes, Madam, I am drunk, but in the morning I shall be sober and you will still be ugly.' Sir Winston Churchill.
