Today, the binmen were late.
How lucky are you. Over Christmas we didn't see the binmen for 3 weeks!
My necessaries are embark'd: farewell. Adieu! I have too grieved a heart to take a tedious leave.

Off to the local Gliding Club shortly for the purpose of Committing Aviation in the Pawnee Tug.

Forecast temperature for the day is officially 35C but will more likely be aroung the 40C mark, with some Cu's. No idea how many launches to do but hopefully some good soaring available.

Fire has been eating wood tonight even fully closed up. Wind Average around 30km/h gusting 60km/h or so sucking it into life.
Nice and warm though.

Six am and first cups of tea. Into town early for haircuts. A few degrees plus out and as for the past two weeks, very windy. Meteo promises better things from Tuesday on....

Further to post 11542; The Met Man lied!!!!

Went outside to see total OVC with lower patches abv 5,000'.
Did 5 launches, one to just over 4,000' and air was so smooth I could have flown Pawnee hands off, solely by use of Elevator trim.

Indeed I actually did so on descent, whilst I took a few piccies of the Murray River in the biggest flood since 1974.

And the 'experts' still maintain that they can forecast all the doom and gloom weather we will have in 20/40/60 years time!!! =))

I really screwed up. Misunderstood our 12:00 haircut appointments for 10:00. Hence had to waste two hours in the narrow streets of Figueras at 4°c and 50kph wind. Wife went shopping for Objets d'Arte for her next exhibition. I sat in front of my favourite landscape painting by Roure in the church.
Home via the roasty-chicken shop.

Big day today, puppies get to visit the Great Outside later. I was out there with the shop vac to clean up the worst of it, then hosed it down, and will put up the fences soon. Got to figure out a better way to get the ethernet cable out to the camera for the outdoor puppy cam. Previous litters that used it were summer litters, so having a door or window open a bit to let the cable out wasn't a problem, but it's due to get cold this week so I might have to finally figure out how to route cables out.

It still needs power. The one that's installed is a PoE camera, so I only need one cable to it.

The sliding door I previously opened to run the cable out to the camera wouldn't slide today, so they got to have their first outdoor experience off-camera.

Morning all. Another 2° dawn, mercifully the gale has abated, but due to no sun yesterday the house cooled down.
Thanks to Brexit "being done" - (thanks Dave and Theresa and Boris) our UK mobile phone company wants now to charge an additional £2 a day each for data when abroad. Rather than buying a second SIM card for each phone, I've bought a portable router which with a 40Gb SIM from Lebara at £10 a month will cover us when out of range of the (plentiful) free wifi in Spain.

Afternoon folks. Nice day but starting to cloud over. Just been to the safari camp for a couple of beers. All their chief executives have just landed at the airport. They have nothing to worry about everything is fine. The manageress is away as her mother went into hospital on Wednesday for a gall bladder removal and it has all gone wrong. They are wealthy people goodness knows why she had it done in Francistown. Should have gone to S.A. or Namibia. Nursie says the main problem was probably that she is fat.

It is raining baby squirrels. Had two drop out of the thatch onto the veranda in two hours. The mother keeps sticking her head out to see where they have gone. I will get her.

Jungle drums for church service. It is very annoying. Trying to have a nice quiet Sunday afternoon,
'Yes, Madam, I am drunk, but in the morning I shall be sober and you will still be ugly.' Sir Winston Churchill.

WD 40 and hammer to help it slide.
Duct tape if it won't stop sliding.

Further thought on WiFi camera(s) for patio.
No outside outlets? :-?

Lunch at invitation of friends in their sixties. Groaning when we got up from table. Only two pain-free knees among the four of us. Must be the dry Tramontana at just-above-freezing temperatures.
