Morning folks. Our lady has survived two night now in our tent. We are off into the Delta tomorrow for four days of luxury. No hippos for her so far but there will be plenty for her tomorrow.

Rainbow Bridge:-
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Anniversary of my father's death today. Over thirty years ago, but, you know...

Chains of wintry showers moving through overnight; currently 4.8°C, feels like 1°C.
And with the morn, those angel faces smile...

Yes, I do know. I was there when my father had his stroke. Had to leave him in hospital and return to Spain. Got the news a month later he was dying (1997) but didn't get back in time. I regret it. Nobody with family should die alone.

This problem of dying. Perfectly natural part of life. But we can have a part to play. Lady I know held a skydiver as he died whose canopy had not opened and who hit the street right in front of her. (A not unusual happening in Empuriabrava).
Mrs OFSO held her mum's hand as mum waited for her brother to arrive, driving across London. She hung on until he was at her bedside.
I'm sure most of us have similar stories.

Whilst on the rather sad subject of death, a golfing mate of mine and founder member of our Earlybird society, died today. He was 83 and had suffered from oesophageal cancer in the last year. He will be missed by many at the golf club.

A glass of red wine late last night did me no favours and I was awake at 5am. At least it meant I put the washing on on low tarif.
Sad news this morning about Paul O'Grady. Seemed a gentle chap.

Llondel my condolences on the passing of Tesla.

Glad to be back. Was great to see our son, but the rest of the UK seems to go further down the road to ruin, every time I visit.
Not an enjoyable flight home either, as it was half full of Americans, who having changed flights at LGW and staying airside, had too much and in several cases, oversized cabin baggage. Then proceeded to argue with cabin crew over a variety of small matters, including flight safety requirements.

Mrs IB is not well and I shall be taking her to the hospital this morning. She clearly has a bad viral infection.

Yes, indeed, sad news about Paul O'Grady this morning.
