Half of Canada on fire at the mo, and the rest on a burn ban. Forecast for 29 but the humidex is currently 39.
But tomorrow afternoon, it will be chucking it down, with the temp dropping back to +6.
Yo-yo season continues.

Hopefully some of that rain can find its way to a few fires.
It's a target rich environment after all.

I guess fire season is about to kick off here. It was wet earlier in the month, but it's been warm for a while to dry it all out, and the green hill behind us is now golden brown.

We're hearing here how bad and widespread the fires in Canada are. Hope things improve soon, and people stay safe.

Heavy fog came over briefly this morning, but seems to be clearing. Currently 11c, forecast max 21c.

Volunteer firefighters, who make up most of the rural forces, have been taken for granted for far too long, and their numbers are well down. This is actually the biggest problem.
The fire bans are sensible, but you'd have to be an idiot to think a fire was a good idea anyway. I guess we will find out how many idiots there are. From what I've heard from Nova Scotia's two fires, there appear to be a few in that province.
It's no use the Governments' yelling about it, nobody listens to them or reads the media these days (and that's their own fault).

Morning, all. Cold and windy. Trying not to cough as it hurts Down Below. Guess I've got bruises 'coming out' as my mum would have said...

Morning folks, nice day but a very chilly start at 12C. 30s promised all week. Hippo city they do shifts to make a noise. Better than booze boats though. We had a bad one yesterday afternoon.

^ I know their sort, they've been practising!

Good morning, 2.2°C at my place, just below freezing elsewhere in town, expecting 12°C. A few low clouds creeping in, pale blue skies otherwise.
No traffic about.

Cold out tonight. Saw a fox the size of an Alsatian Dog on Teddington station platform on my evening walk.

Another foggy morning, expecting it to clear soon. Currently 15c, Forecast max 22c., and it's supposed to be winter. Not complaining, though.

Phone says it's clear, no it isn't, 9° and cloud. Supposed to turn sunny later.
I was compelled to drink gallons of water yesterday, with the predictable results on my nights sleep.

Off to dentist this afternoon, after a largish chip came off a lower molar. The tooth was mainly filling already. He's recommended a crown, as a larger filling would probably only result in more chipping before long. In the mean time, he's put in a temporary filling. He also did a clean and check up + X-rays. No other problems fortunately.

Morning folks. Nice gin clear day 33C promised. Not bad for mid winter. Two very noisy boats yesterday. They have all just been paid. All the hippos are still here been making a noise all night. Don't mind that it is nature. Safari camp for a few beers.

Nasty train crash in India. Looked up the worst ever. Surprise, surprise that was India as well.

Fillings force weak teeth apart. Crowns hold them together. Says my dentist.

That's what mine says too. He actually has little models of fillings, implants & crowns to show how they work. Glad my health insurance covers most of it.

Mission 2. is the Air Conditioning filter in El Rav which is somewhere deep behind the glove box.

From the TV this morning there seems to be a rather unique football match today.
Clashes with Spanish GP Quali methinks.

Sunny day, 17c presently, 20c expected. The anemometer on my weather station has failed yet again, showing calm. I have a spare but it will have to wait until the gardeners come on Monday. It’s at the top of a 25ft pole and when Mrs C16 helped me last time she - her version is “I”, not “she” - let the pole hit her when we took it down so it’s a very positive refusal to help from her this time!
