One has broken a molar on a Scotch Egg. Tuesday is Columbus Day, a National holiday. No Fang Fettler today then. Bum.

There is a 10 metre fishing boat called Stronsay Maid in Tor Bay at the moment, I wonder if it's lost?

Morning and a happy Columbus Day to all. Was wondering what the public holiday was. I remembered not to eat Scotch Eggs in the preceeding 24 hours.

Morning folks another nice day. Unfortunately have to go into town to the department of immigration to start what will hopefully be our permanent residency application. Also to cash exchange for a money transfer from the UK, post office to tax vehicles and IT consultant to set up new computer. Most here would weep if they knew what the motor tax is in Bots. Our trailer tax is overdue so we have to pay a 7 month fine of £0.97p.
Lawns getting mown.

Watching TV news for Catalunia. Complaints about high cost of fuel for vehicles. New record high for electricity prices, industry reckons will have to close. Local town Figures high for covid cases. More Afghan refugees arriving. All sounds like UK. But we do have HGV drivers!

Morning folks.
Gas ran out mid shower this morning and because it's a nailed on public holiday, Manuel isn't working to deliver more. ...and an awaited package with Sewer was due for delivery today (already outside time limit) but will now be tomorrow. Think a call to UK supplier is called for and a demand for refund of delivery charge.
20c getting up to 23c later a couple of guessers agree this morning.
Small freezer to defrost and dead tomato plants to be removed.

Morning all,
I only look at the official met, cooler for warmer.
currently 18c guess 26c, cloud should burn off.
Nothing planned, might tinker with the pond.
SM will be doing the washing.
We don't have a gas delivery so have a spare, it ran out yesterday by coincidence while cooking.
Quickly back on the air.

Good morning.
The weather can only be described as cloudy. Nothing more
exciting about it. 10°C at present may reach 16.
Got the catheter removed yesterday which was a blessed relief along with
50% of the staples on the wound. Back on Thursday to have the last of the
staples removed. Only trouble with having the catheter removed was I had
to get up for the loo every 45 minutes during the night. Looks like some bladder
training is in order.
Today I shall be doing nothing apart from resting and keeping warm.

Which brought to mind my father. Although we had a toilet off the landing it was a long cold walk in our pre-war semi with no central heating. Instead he used a Gozunder a rather unpleasant ritual I think.to get up for the loo every 45 minutes during the night.

Change to plans. No town. The IT consultant's BiL was killed in a car crash last night so he is a bit busy. Phoned the dosh exchange guy and our dosh isn't through yet so all postponed to Friday.
'erbert managed to snap the pull start rope on the mower. Then tried to repair it. We had bits of lawn mower all over the place which he couldn't put back together. It was well beyond my pay grade. Fortunately the former owner/builder of our house is here from S.A. and a retired engineer. Grass being mown again. It will cost us a few beers this afternoon. Nice to see him anyway. Has a PPL.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread V
A Water Rat has taken up residence in the small pond. If he starts to gnaw at the plastic liner he'll potentially do catastrophic damage as the banking beneath the outer pond edge would be easily eroded by a leak. The Orfes are living torpedoes, so they can get away from him, but the slothful Carp will be easy meat for him.
He's gotta go. I'll try a live trap and release him two or three miles downriver, else it's gonna have to be a lethal trap.

A day back at the 'Country Practice' tomorrow...It's late and I shall not be responding to my very friendly colleague's texts....mayhaps overly friendly colleague...of whom I enjoy her company / texts / snapchats very much indeed....but am not too sure she really knows where I am really at despite my disclaimers....should I wish to discard a lifetime of loving trust and 'stuff' built up together over 30 years,....she'd be the willing participant, no doubt, however, that is never going to happen....but I do enjoy the fun she brings to work...but don't care to lead the lovely Lady along to something which is not going to happen...
