A friend who is knowledgeable in these matters recommends these books by David Hill, apparently they pull no punches on crash investigations by the RAF.

Clear blue sky today, but a bit brisk - 12c currently, forecast max 17c. I may find an excuse for pottering in the garden.

Feeling energised today. Pursuant to the recent discussion here, I have just been out hoeing at the little weed-seedlings, the soil is a fine tilth so they were easy to rootle up. Many spring bulbs putting leaves up already and more lurking just below the surface.
Picked more yellow chrysanthemums.
Day is very pleasant, around 18°C with sun and high clouds, and light winds.

Neighbour dropped some pomegranates on our doorstep. I hope my pottering unearths some nice sweet potatoes so that I may respond in kind.

Very nice too. I've seen cardboard boxes of apples put out here with 'help yourself' signs attached.
Hazy clouds and sun here. Most of the family have flown to Turkey to enjoy three days of non-stop rain, although I don't think 'enjoy' is an appropriate word.

Morning folks. Broken Cu should make 30C. Spring bulbs coming up Karearea? It is not even mid winter yet.

Massive power problems this morning. I glanced at the system when I was unlocking this and the battery warning light was on. I banged on the genny and it wouldn't connect resulting in a power cut. This condition is difficult to resolve. After much switching, resetting and genny on for two hours we are now up and running again on solar. A solid week of clear skies and today we have Cu ~X(

We have, we think, put a stop to the petrol theft by 'erbert by weighing the jerry cans. We have now switched to pool chemicals. About 100 euros worth gone so far. Goodness knows how he is fencing that. Don't know any compound and mud hut in the village with a pool. Spoke to his father about it last night when he came on shift. I have said before to them that any proven theft by any of them they all lose their jobs. We are their only source of income.

Pottering was rewarded by large number of sweet potatoes, some distributed among several neighbours. Seems we're all growing different things. Other neighbour has a nice crop of peas coming on.

Yesterday was cold enough to be the last day of winter, and today it is the first day of summer. The temperature hits 27 degrees in 3 days time.
Got the lawn tractor fixed, both replacing or mending broken parts, and adding improvements like bearings. The steering in particular is miles better. Am now cutting the grass before it becomes a jungle.
The farmers are out planting more potatoes.

The leaves up now will be Snowflakes, and Tazetta narcissus; they'll bloom from late June/July; Wordsworth's daffodils bloom around September 1 in my garden.

A neon-pink sky just before sunrise; needed the car headlights on when out as it was overcast and quite dusky still.
Great run through the traffic lights which remained green or changed to green when I commanded them so to do.
Only 8.8°C now and 99% humidity; supposed to reach 18°C, we'll see.

Same here. Broken Cu forecast should make 30C the weather guessers say that it is going to be a warm winter. The lagoon is receding. We have a large beach out front. Not sure how far the flood has got but good second flood reported up north.

Copied Karearea. Don't think that we can buy bulbs here but we do have many lilies in the garden.

Morning all,
Henry up at 0645, crying. Nothing wrong just wanting to play.
Still lots of activity in the air vent.
Showing 21c, tealeaves 25c Tormentas this afternoon it is said, radar clear for miles.
Not quite dome high haze.

Next door Dutchman has had a solar array fitted. It is aligned 'bout 10' South of East.
Moron.

Back to routine floors, ritual, GP, chicken.

Perhaps he wanted to inbuild an automatic timer to restrict output?

What angle?

The best systems are those which track the sun direction and elevation. Very expensive and we do not have anywhere to fit one here with all the trees.

As you appreciate difficult by eye but I guess 45.468 degrees.

Seriously about 35 to 45 degrees.

Usual quiet sunny Sunday afternoon apart from low flying aircraft, I ask you. Have the RAF nothing better to do than buzz our house with a Spitfire and Hurricane, as if the Spitfire yesterday wasnt bad enough.
Then the Lancaster came over TWICE.
Still, I got him on camera and will write a stiff thetter to the Commanding Officer.

Why no Dakota?

Boring?

The Dakota, not the response by PN.

Can't compete with Spitfire, Hurricane and Lancaster.

When the County Show was held at our village sports-field, the various flypasts used to line-up on our house for the run-in to the show-field.

Nowadays the County Show has moved venue to another rural location five miles downstream, so we get none of the excitement! :-q

That is an engineer for you. They should of course be pointing north and if they can be moved in your location 64.9 degrees in winter, 37.4 degrees in spring/autumn and 12.4 degrees in summer. 45 degrees fixed would seem about right but not pointing east :-o

Overnight power outage. :-o
Dunno when or for how long. :-??
Clocks to be reset. Bedside clock has a 9V back-up but display flashes to denote outage.
Stove, microwave, and weather station have to be reset manually. ~X(
Why can't a $500-$1,000 appliance have a $1 back-up? :-?

Woody, keep your eyes peeled for a bright green Samsonite going on BA942 on Wednesday afternoon, with any luck Mrs K3K3 will be sitting above it.
