Two Catalan foundries we've used have had an African working there, one from the north of the continent and one from the south. What nice chaps they are. Apart from being hard workers, coming from countries where little is available off the shelf they are masters of improvisation, understanding what is required in a few words. Give them an angle grinder, hammer and welding gear and they can make anything the foundry needs. Quickly. Best of all, in contrast to their colleagues who only speak Castilliano or Catalan, the blacks are also fluent in English and French, and helpful in negotiating prices.
