SM is really upset too, she has, with me, followed the saga and sends her condolences.

Very rarely post on the forum but very sad news of Eric and wish his family the best. As I get older I get more and more reminders of how short life is and, maybe somewhat selfishly, wonder what the point of it all is. Having said that I hope there is a point to it all and that Eric finds it.

I wish to send my sincere condolences to HF's friends and family. I also apologise for being very late to read in.

I have just been speaking to Mary, Eric's widow.

She is naturally finding things difficult and upsetting. She will get round to reading all your messages , but would find that too distressing at the moment. She sends her thanks.

Eric's funeral has only been arranged today.

It will take place next Thursday, 27th January 2022 at 11.30
At St. Edwards Church, Borough Street, Castle Donington.

It will be a simple service with no hymns.

Afterwards at the Castle Inn

Mary is sending me an order of service and I should also receive a poem about Eric that I will post on receipt.

Jim will be most welcome to attend and represent us at the funeral, if he can make it.

Unfortunately I will be at an old mate's real funeral at exactly the same time. He was killed in a dreadful road accident last week.
Will Eric's funeral be available on line for some time after the event? I can then watch it later.

I shall be there. Will make enquiries about the streaming of the service. May be some hope; I see that they post a recording of their Sunday services each week.

My condolences to the family.
Because they stand on the wall and say "nothing's gonna hurt you tonight, not on my watch".

I've just chased the funeral directors again and they now tell me that there are no plans to stream Eric's funeral service.
Sad!
(Thanks, Ibbie, for the prompt!)
