I don't know if I should be offended or comforted that apparently none of you have met me or would want to! :)

I used to know K&C quite well, 53 years ago.

I would not turn down a meet-up with anyone here, past or present. :YMHUG:

I’ve known FD2 for getting on for 35+ years and have met TGG a couple of times in Perth. Would be very happy to meet anyone on the forum. Maybe Perth would be a good venue for the Scottish contingent - and any others - to meet up in future…….?

For the most part, the more interesting meetings would be with those with whom you disagree on the forum. Either you find a way to get along or you entertain those around you with a fist fight.

I'm in the "happy to meet anyone" camp, although I don't expect the need for a fight.

In the days of TOP, a couple of members disagreed to the extent that a physical confrontation was arranged where fisticuffs were threatened.

Is The Salutation still going?

Used to pop up pretty much weekly for a couple of years in the 80s

not really the sort of people you want at the pointy end of a commercial flight. Might be OK in a military jet though. I tend to look at it that someone who resorts to violence too early lacks merit with his arguments and generally is not worth wasting time in debating.

Friend of mine was doing his military service when some reservists were called for the major national drill. The reservists arrive (soldiers not officers) and two of them did remember they had an argument years ago and they decided to take it up again. Needless to say they were stopped after a somewhat delayed intervention by the bystanders. Best part of the training.

There is a point about not having two such people together in the flight deck but more than fine to have them around in a bash.

Yes, The Salutation Hotel is still going - it's just a five minute walk from The Royal George where TGG and I met up for a very pleasant evening last year.

Good news - many happy evenings in the bar there, especially lates as a resident. Met rugby legend John Jeffery in there - I'd never understood the phrase 'raw-boned' till then. Top man, mind

I'd like to meet K&C. As we are seem to be on the same side of the political spectrum, we would no doubt argue heatedly all night.😁
