Cats - They are cool!

#1 Post by TheGreenGoblin » Tue Feb 01, 2022 10:12 pm

Both of the nincompoops have made friends with me, having ingratiated themselves, and within a day have taken over, and will not countenance a moment of rage, or lack of care for them...

I suspect I have been used like a kipper, but whatever, I see the sense of it and, now worry, how I am going to let the two furry fools go, when it comes to it!

I am a soft hearted fool.

I must play the French National Anthem here...

As much as you buggers gave us, early on, these cats helped us so much...

Fun and games with them already. We are keeping them in for a week or two and make sure front and back doors are locked, but on Wednesday Lottie went missing, nowhere to be found in the house, so the awful assumption was that she had escaped. Much searching, calling, banging of food trays, speaking to neighbours, searching of the allotment, checking local countryside. All yielding nothing. Sitting disconsolately back at home when my better half noticed the slightest of bumps under the duvet in the spare room. It was Lottie, the little swine had climbed into bed and ignored all the calling and commotion! ;)))

It is alleged that a former (and unlamented) State Premier of South Australia had a Coffee Mug whilst he was in Office that had the legend upon it; You are a no-one, until you've been ignored by a Cat!

About the only thing I agreed with when it came to that particular individual! [-X

When our cat went missing I stood at the back door sharpening the carving knife, she always turned up at a rate of knots. To her the carving knife meant the possibility of chicken.

My cats' favorite quiet place is in the hall cabinets where linens are stored.
The hinges creak when they open the doors so I know they are in.
Needless to say, the top layer of sheets is unusable to use until washed.

I was assigned cat sitting duties for the first cat my sister and her hubby own. Nice cat but she had some issues with me she didn't like to be bothered. I decided to get up and check where the feline boss was. It wasn't in the first places I looked. I decided to perform a more in-depth SAR which failed to locate the cat. I had to ring my sister and hubby with the news about a missing cat from a fourth floor apartment. They moved to Def-Con 4, it seems they did toy with the idea to cut short their vacation. I decided to perform a SWAT type of search check a room very well before moving to another room. Teresa the cat was found in a weird shape box which afforded some cover and she was very unimpressive from my efforts to find her. I cancelled the alarm and decided to leave her alone just to avoid pushing her to find another spot and oblige me launch a new research.

I'm clearly a no-one. Cats like me. I remember visiting a friend once, who had a cat. The cat appeared, I said hello to the cat and my friend noted that the cat did not like strangers. So of course, the cat came over and jumped on my lap.

When we went to pick up Cosmo, our Maine Coon kitten, he appeared not to be in a good mood with the breeder and scratched her hand, but once handed to me, he settled right down on my lap and was happy.

Eldest daughter loved the cat, cat totally ignored her.
Youngest daughter hated the cat, cat was all over her.

My better half is doing her Wednesday night Zoom gym class with the ladies from Cardiff, Birmingham and Leicester, and both cats are attacking her feet on the gym mat... I have decided they can stay! =))

I was on a MS Teams meeting with a Canadian Bank this afternoon and one of the moggies climbed up and perched on my shoulder much to to the amusement of the participants in Canada, America and the UK! One of the Chinese lady actuaries was prompted to introduce her dog. The world of real work will never be the same again. =))

One of my old American colleagues had the most enormous Maine Coon... I don't think I have ever seen a bigger felix domestipuss! They seem to be really good animals. How do your dogs get on with Cosmo?

They get on quite well with him. He does have an amazing personality and he's getting big now. He is probably still not at full growth.

Set my alarm for the gym this morning but I needn't have bothered as one of the furry little swine, curled up at the foot of the bed, decided to sink her fangs into my big toe at 4:45! No doubt I had had the temerity to move my foot! :-o

No blood drawn but a painful way to be dragged from the arms of Morpheus. =))

Fairly safe from that, one cat sleeps on my pillow above my head, one sleeps downstairs and no idea where the third one sleeps. We're more likely to be woken by a dog at that hour.

You are a better and more patient man than me llondel. The other furry little swine attempted to annex the rights to my pillow, but I wasn't having any of that, the continual purring was too much for one's sanity! =))
