I felt sorry for this guy who back in 2020 hit a low bridge in a double decker. He normally drove single deckers and had a 29 year unblemished bus driving career. He couldn't face going back to work. Luckily no one was sitting upstairs...

Normally I don't have to worry, because stuff is over 11ft, but there it isn't so I had to pay close attention, and sometimes the height warnings weren't clearly visible until I'd committed to a turn. Two students have been criminally charged after allegedly bringing “fart spray” to their Texas high school this month, a prank that led to evacuations, hospitalizations and canceled classes.

Diego Flores, 18, and a boy, 17, were both charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, a third-degree felony, after authorities said they “intentionally or knowingly” possessed “a chemical dispensing device,” according to court records. (The 17-year-old is not being identified because NBC News does not usually name minors charged with a crime.)

A strange odor at Caney Creek High School on May 3 and 4 prompted extensive testing of the campus' mechanical, ventilation and sewer systems. Multiple fire departments responded to the school, including Caney Creek Fire & Rescue, and determined that its air quality was safe and there was no odor in the building when it wasn't occupied by students, the school's principal, Jeff Stichler, said in a statement May 5.

Students were temporarily evacuated May 3 after "a gas smell near the cafeteria" was discovered and dismissed at 1 p.m., Stichler said in a message to parents. There was no odor when students returned to campus the next day, but the smell returned at around 11:30 a.m., prompting another evacuation and early dismissal, according to another message from the principal.

Some students had "strong negative physical reactions to the odor," including headaches and nausea, and were taken to hospitals by ambulance, according to court documents.

"We have been told by multiple resources using advanced equipment that the presence of natural gas has not been detected on our campus — not yesterday and not today," Stichler told parents May 4.

The school was closed May 5 to allow authorities to continue their probe into the source of odor.

Following an investigation by police and the campus administration, the school said it believes students brought "Hensgaukt Fart Spray" in the building as part of a prank, causing the odor.

Flores and the 17-year-old boy were booked into the Montgomery County Jail on May 12 and released on $3,000 bond the same day.

Attorney Wendy Baker, who represents Flores, said her client was "over charged."

"I am completely offended that this young man has been charged with a third degree felony and if the State of Texas doesn’t come to their senses soon then we look forward to defending this case in a jury trial of Montgomery County citizens," Baker said in an email.

The Conroe Independent School District deferred all comments on the incident to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.

In a statement, the district attorney's office said there are several details it can't share at this time due to pending litigation, but that the incident wasn't just a harmless school prank.

"However, we can affirm that even the initial evidence outlined in the charges indicates that this incident goes beyond the scope of a benign school prank," the statement said. "While being mindful of these details, we also fully understand and acknowledge the youth of the individuals involved in this case. The potential for impulsive decisions, especially among younger individuals, is a factor we consider during our pursuit of justice."

The district attorney's office says it is dedicated to a resolution considerate of the community, the victims and the futures of the suspects.

"We encourage those with concerns to exercise patience and allow the process to work to achieve those ends," the district attorney's office said.

A man is accused of breaking into a Florida theme park, jumping into an alligator enclosure and filming a video for social media – a dangerous stunt that authorities say led to his arrest.

Police in Tampa Bay say Jacob Pursifull, 20, hopped a fence to enter Busch Gardens theme park illegally on June 1. He and two others went to the park’s alligator enclosure, which is outfitted with two layers of metal fencing, footage of the incident shows.

Authorities say Pursifull entered the enclosure while one of the people with him recorded him, according to a news release from the Tampa Police Department.

Onlookers can be seen in a video posted to social media showing Pursifull inside the enclosure, with some shouting at him to get out and that it was dangerous to get that close to the reptiles. Footage of the incident went viral online.

“Another wild Karen. Crikey!” Pursifull can be heard saying in a clip cited by CNN affiliate WBBH.

It is unclear whether Pursifull has legal representation.

Authorities say he posted a video of the incident to social media. No video of the incident currently appears on social media accounts appearing to belong to Pursifull.

According to Tampa police, Jacob Pursifull "jumped over a fence to unlawfully enter the park" and entered the alligator enclosure.

Tampa police say leads from social media helped investigators identify and arrest Pursifull.

He was taken into custody Monday on charges of theft of services, trespassing and burglary of an occupied structure, according to the release from police and the Hillsborough County jail’s website.

Pursifull was released on $8,500 bond Tuesday, booking information showed.

It is unclear whether the two other people who police say snuck into the theme park with Pursifull will face charges. The Tampa Police Department did not immediately respond to an inquiry from CNN.

As he was being led away by police he was heard complaining about the ungrateful and uncooperative alligators who conspired to deny him of the Darwin Award that he thought he deserved.

A restaurant in California has been ordered to pay $140,000 in back wages and damages to employees after it hired a priest to extract workers’ confessions, in what federal investigators are calling “the most shameless” acts of corruption an employer has taken against its staff.

The US Department of Labor said an employee testified that owner Che Garibaldi, who operates two locations of Taqueria Garibaldi in northern California, hired a fake priest to hear confessions during work hours and “get the sins out,” including asking them if they had been late for work, stolen money from the restaurant or had “bad intentions” toward their employer.

“Under oath, an employee of Taqueria Garibaldi explained how the restaurant offered a supposed priest to hear their workplace ‘sins’ while other employees reported that a manager falsely claimed that immigration issues would be raised by the department’s investigation,” said Regional Solicitor of Labor Marc Pilotin in the release.

The Catholic Diocese of Sacramento confirmed that they found “no evidence of any connection” between the fake priest and their diocese. “While we don’t know who the person in question was, we are completely confident he was not a priest of the Diocese of Sacramento,” a diocese spokesman told the Catholic News Agency last week.

Garibaldi and three other restaurant owners and operators were ordered to pay $140,000 in back wages and damages to 35 employees. The restaurant will also have to pay $5,000 in civil penalties.

Taqueria Garibaldi did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Investigators also found that the restaurant denied employees overtime pay, managers were paid bonuses from the employee tip pool and some employees faced “adverse immigration consequences” for cooperating with investigators.

“This employer’s despicable attempts to retaliate against employees were intended to silence workers, obstruct an investigation and prevent the recovery of unpaid wages,” Pilotin said.
