What Are You Streaming / Binging?

#1 Post by PHXPhlyer » Fri Aug 05, 2022 5:20 pm

I have had two self-induced short nights' sleep due to binging series from streaming services. ~X(
Since I cut the cord last month and am utilizing streaming services (Amazon Prime, Netflix, and several others that I have but have not explored yet) it has become easy to be sucked into one episode after another. :-o
I just finished Bosch on Amazon Prime, based on the excellent series by Michael Connelly and am starting The Lincoln Lawyer, also by Connelly, on Netflix. :-bd
What are you binging/recommending?

Parallel track? I am rereading all the books in those series. Connelly holds up real well!

Never heard the word "binging", in that context, but you live and learn.

I must admit to being a fan of UK detective series but get saddened that one, in particular, is partly in Welsh.

The wife understands it because it has Finnish subtitles

The only series that I had previously streamed was "Longmire" on Netflix. Originally an A&E Network offering, Netflix picked it up and expanded it after A&E dropped it.
Good show with great scenery. It was set in Wyoming and filmed around Santa Fe, New Mexico.

I forgot about that one.....great show....

House of Cards

Call the Midwife

Homeland

Making a murderer

The Kominski Method

The Queens Gambit

Inventing Anna

After Life

The Only Murder in the House
Mrs. Maisel
Bosch: Legacy (New)
The Mandalorian
Star Trek: Piccard

Just a few on my list.
I'm sure that there is more (good) content than I could ever consume, not to mention all of my too many to count DVDs and downloaded movies. ~X(
Don't even get me started on unread books.

Found it hard to drag myself away from "Servant of the People", starring (largely written by) Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his previous career as a comedian/actor. Very clever and cynical portrayal of politicians. Zelenskyy plays a high-school history teacher who becomes president of the Ukraine, and sometimes has to do not-so-good things to achieve good ends. He's not helped by his greedy relatives, especially his father and sister.
Subtitles, unfortunately.

Hopefully, his residuals are enough to get a few more Javelins or some reloads for the HIMARS.

PHX

I've worked it out now.

You meant binge(ing) and I couldn't understand why you would be bing(ing).

Looking at google, I see that either are acceptable spellings.

I am subscribed to both Netflix and Amazon and am not streaming or binging, or even bingeing, on anything at the moment!

One might think that I am wasting my money!
My necessaries are embark'd: farewell. Adieu! I have too grieved a heart to take a tedious leave.
