At this time, with our Queen probably breathing her last few breaths on this Earth, do you REALLY think that now is the time to continue being rude and obnoxious about one of her grandchildren and his wife?

Can I suggest that now is not the time to display media-induced prejudices against one of her grandchildren, but a time to show sympathy to everyone in the Royal Family.

For the majority of us in the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth nations she is the only monarch we have ever known. I was just four months old when she was crowned, and like many here have known no other monarch in my lifetime. Many of us will have pledged an oath of true allegiance to Her Majesty, her heirs and successors. It behoves us to show respect at this time, to ALL of her family, irrespective of their deeds in the past.

God Bless The Queen. RIP Ma'am.

How we remember HM:-

I declare before you all that my whole life whether it be long or short shall be devoted to your service and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong.

Her Majesty's commitment to her duty was the most remarkable keystone of her life, from when she was just a young girl, during the war, setting an example to other teenagers, though her entire life as our Queen, to her last days on this Earth, when she accepted the kissing of hands from our new PM, just days before her death.

I do not believe that there is another person on this planet that has been so absolutely committed to their duty to their country as Her Majesty. It may not be fashionable to believe in the monarchy, but the monarchy has provided an underpinning of stability to the whole of the UK, through good times and bad. Without it, and without the example of the meaning of public duty that Her Majesty has provided for over 70 years, we would be in an even worse place now, I am sure.

She will be a tough act to follow, and I fear that our new King will not be up to the job at all.

RIP your Majesty Long live the King.

Still vivid in my memory is when as a seven year old I watched her Coronation on a tiny black and white television that my Granny bought especially for the occasion.

We were the first family in our street to get television (especially for the coronation), and we had 'open house' for neighbours with our front room crowded by chairs like a cinema.
I remember it well.

The BBC says not, which is sad. Their live news has him getting there about 8:12pm. Whatever their differences in life, it is a shame that he didn't get there to say goodbye. I suspect it was a pretty mad dash by all of the family at short notice to get there.

Similar to G-CPTN, my first memory is of the Coronation.

I was six.

Our next door neighbours had a television, with a very small screen viewed through a magnifying glass.

My sister and I then went to a party in St Hilda's church hall in Crofton Park.

We were presented? with a tin of chocolate and a coach and horses.

The chocolate, and tin, went years ago but the coach and horses my wife sold in the local flea market, in Finland, about 3 years ago.

Sometime later my mother took us, again to Crofton Park, and we waved to the Queen and then went to the Rivoli cinema where we watched the coronation in glorious colour.

Very sad news indeed.

We gathered at Fareham station to watch the new Queen and Prince Philip when I was a little boy, which was one of my earliest memories.

I believe that the official announcement of HM's death was issued at 18:35 (or thereabouts).

In order for the official announcement to be made, family members and officials (including several overseas authorities) had to be informed - said to have taken a couple of hours or so, so, HM's actual departure might therefore have been around 16:30 or earlier - the time that the news was passed to the GB Prime Minister.

William was behind the wheel of the Range Rover which arrived as part of a cavalcade of cars at the Queen’s Scottish Highlands home just after 5pm.

Sixty plus years since I recounted this. Copied from my Attestation Papers.

"I,...................... swear by Almighty God that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, Her Heirs and Successors, and that I will, as in duty bound, honestly and faithfully defend Her Majesty, Her Heirs and Successors, in Person, Crown and Dignity against all enemies....

A life has passed in the intervening years. Often referred to my time in "Aunty Betty's Flying Circus", but always with a sense of deep respect and abiding love. RIP Aunty.
